Any chance someone could test this with DS Organize? I was thinking of buying one and this was one of the apps I wanted to run on it, so it would be much appreciated

it is possible albeit difficult to backup you're own games, requiring a seperate device capable of doing so. it is possible however to copy the saves from you're existing carts using a program called eepinator, and if you use them with backups acquired from elsewhere, you could continue your old saves.

pm me if you're really stuck

also, the latest version of DS Organise works fine with the R4DS, the previous bugs with it have been fixed.

I thought you'd just need a slot 2 device. Then there'd be a prog on the slot 1 device that tells you to eject the device and to insert an original game. The prog then continues to save the entire game to the slot 2 device so you can save it on a PC... Thought I read about this on a webshop's page. But that eepinator also has a line 'DS CART -> FILE', is this the game or the save they're talking about then? Think I'llalso check on the R4 forum for this one. Thanks anyway, One step further down to to Hell

you would thing it would be that easy, but it requires older flash cards and specific dumpers, that aren't publicly released AFAIK. the ds cart -> file thing is save only btw

Found some info on it, older version needs GBAmp, newer can do it via M3 cards...

Got one of these and it's ace. Quick loading times, easy access menus, and you can boot to slot 2 from the main menu (in case you want to use the R4 as a passme device for a G6 lite cart, for example).

The cheapest 2Gb micro SD card I found was here (play.com, £14.99). 4Gb ones are on their way, but tbh I don't think I'll ever need one that big: 2Gb is more than adequate.

Good lady has roped me in to sort out a problem for a neighbour so i thought i would rope you guys in.

She has a DS and a DS lite and has bought 2 R4DS cards. They work fine in the ds lite but neither work in the DS.

Are these cards compatible with the old DS and if so what could be the problem.

                    Thanks.

                      Hi m8

These are fully compatible with both old and new DS's

I would maybe dload the latest firmware from the website and try that one out.

Sounds daft but the connectors on the R4 carts can be a little off sometimes and don't always meet all the pins. Blow hard into the slot on the DS to clear any dust etc, and try reinserting it a few times. Should probably sort you out, doubt it's fw related.

Typical second hand information.Turned out the ds lite was not working with the R4DS cards caused by 2 bent pins.Got a sharp pointy thing(sorry for being technical)from the good lady's sewing box and got the problem solved.

New update on the R4 site (1.14), also the skinning options for these things is great.
