DS R4 cart

ah good to see an update. i haven't checked that site since i bought mine earlier this year.

my R4 decided to be a bit silly in japan and would freeze alot, especially if the cart was even touched a teeny bit while on. turned out the connectors were a bit dodgy (not sure if it was my lite or the cart, as my original games are fine and i know how these dodgy things are manufactured). put some paper inside the cart to push the circuit board out a bit and it's fine now.

Did you back up your own games then?
I mainly use mine as an ebook reader at the moment - cant find a link for it but there is a great program call readmore - it wont read pdf files so just save them as text and your away.

no no, but i have a few random originals like the opera browser, kirby, and stuff. i got the R4 for fun homebrew but i haven't even delved into that arena much. main use for my R4 was when i got a load of lites from work really cheap and was repairing them. i had a few homebrew apps on the R4 that i'd use to test the machines - microphone recorder, touchscreen grid (really good test for misalignment), wifi scanner, etc - and sped things up considerably.

lol in japan they were advertising it in the shops in akihabara right at the front. had a big sign with R4 and welcome on it, and they were selling bundles with microSD cards

Whats the largest micro sd card you can use with this system. Im currently using 2gig cards..

it says 4GB but i don't have one (yet) so i can't tell you for certain.

It can use 4GB since the latest firmware update.

Be careful. I spoke to Chris at Supercardstore about the 4gb SDHC cards and he was saying only last week that they are still not usable on the R4.

Not currently, but I'm seriously running out of space to store them and, the Mrs. becomes increasingly more upset each time one lands on the doormat. I'm seriously considering creating a large sales thread of all my surplus video gaming items any day now.

Didn't know anywhere else to put this: does anyone know of a slot 2 device that not only has Rumble & Browser expansion, but maybe also has a SD(HC) slot? I searched around and couldn't find any info, so I'm not sure if this actually exists. So, if it doesn't, a regular slot two card with all the other stuff will suffice...

EZ-V 3-in-1 is the closest you'll get to what you ask for.

(Only thing about this card is that it seems a pain to get files on it, going by their guide...)

Apparently, the original NDS Browser Memory Expansion card is just a blank card, nothing more. So, any other slot 2 device can be used as a Browser Expansion card. (I hope that's correct.)

Will look into the EZ-V card, seen it somewhere before. Thanks for the hint, JOe.

EDIT: hmm, seems that it needs to have RAM too, guess I was wrong. Anyone know if the EZ card exists in a non-Lite version? Can only find Lite cards on the net... too bad.
