True, true, nice teles but it ends up being like upgrading yr pc. You can keep waiting forever for the next best thing/set coming in the next 3/6 mnths etc. You gotta jump in sometime and at the price I got my Bravia (and they are still going for) for I was extremely happy.

That's good. I think the level of satisfaction largely depends what folk were used to before upgrading to HD - ie the quality of their old CRT.

The display has nothing to do with it - most Wii games have very poor image quality, most of which is hidden unless you are running in progressive scan. (the Wii has a very aggressive blur filter if you're running interlaced)

Sure, the Wii's image quality is hampered when the blur filter is used but there's simply no denying it looks better (regardless of what game is played or what level of filtering is employed) in 480P on a CRT than it does in 480P on an LCD.

I'd have to agree, you can't beat the native resolution beauty of a CRT.
But I'd rather suffer the slight drop in quality for the Wii and then have the option of HD material.

I imagine at some point 1080p screens will be able to accurately represent SD material almost identically to that of a CRT.

I'm considering both Sony and Samsung myself, but wondered if there would be any quality difference in a $10 component cable or the official $30 cable when used with my US Wii?

                    I don't think the X2550s are Europe-bound. But the newer X3000 is

What did the 40X set you back? Was thinking between 37 and 40, and V/W/X series here...
