You can, just set your country to be Brazil and it will pass the validation for your CC

Q: What about buying Wii Points? How do I buy American Wii points in the UK? Can I use a credit card and buy them through my TV or do I need to order points cards from the US?
It's been reported that importers will be able to buy Wii points, but NOT directly through the console's interface using a credit card as it lacks the necessary country options. You can't select UK as your country, therefore the credit card address won't match.

The alternative is to buy Wii Points cards from retailers. TronixWeb.com and VideoGamesPlus.ca both stock them. You simply enter the code from the card and register the points this way.

DCharlie came up with a tip that supposedly lets you buy points through the interface via a credit card. Try this at your own risk!

i had the same "BUGGER ! i can't use my card!" but someone mentioned a work around.

Basically - set your system country to Brazil (reason : Brazil matches card details on post code only - not on country, state, etc... and accepts no numeric characters)

Enter your credit card details in the card charge screen, enter you UK post code, TADA!!! there you go! you now have points!!!

Unfortunately VGP+ is still your best source for "cheap" Wii's.

I bought mine from DVD Box Office a few weeks ago, and the machine itself plus shipping came to £170. I also had to pay £19 import VAT because they put the full value on the outside of the box, though on the bright side they ship by DHL who delievered the machine without three days and only charged me £1-something for customs admin (by comparison, Royal Mail's admin charge is £8)

BTW - If you do happen to buy through DVD Box Office, click the option to pay in US dollars rather than Canadian dollars, and you'll save about £20

VG+ with shipping is closer to £210 with the added potential for VAT (although they do mark down.)
