AS this is on "Wii" game device, maybe you can split between GC/Wii in the list? It looks like GC compatability was not high on the developers list!

So a different region's firmware code DOESN'T brick your Wii then? Good to know

Is that what people would prefer? If people have thoughts on how the first post should be organised just post them here and we'll see what people want.

Has anyone tried loading a GCN Freeloader after they've loaded the Wii Freeloader to see if it'll boot, thusly allowing any GCN game to be played?

I tried the following on my PAL 3.2 firmwared Wii

                Gamecube Software

Action Replay Max does not work, either throws up a disc error message or resets the Wii

Sonic Gems Collection (JPN Version) does not work, a black screen is displayed

Mario Sunshine (JPN Version) does not work, a black screen is displayed

Super Monkey Ball (JPN Version) works fine

1080 Snowboarding (US Version) works fine

Mario Golf (US Version) - resets the machine if trying to load the Lakitu Valley course, but on the Cheep Cheep Falls course it loads up okay

Metroid Prime (US Version) - black screen is displayed first of all but will allow you to access menu screen to start game then it works fine for at least the first two levels.

Metroid Prime 2 (US Version) - does not work

Mario Kart (US Version) - does not work

Wave Race Blue Storm (JPN Version) works fine but a graphical glitch, a transparent bar, is displayed three quarters of the way up on the screen.

Screen shots of the glitch are attached...

I agree. While it may not be a problem now as there are only a few games on the list, as the list gets bigger it would be easier to look for games if the lists were seperate.

the latest version of action replay for gamecube now boots again on 3.2E! i tried it again a few days ago, so yes, you can boot the freeloader part of the action replay again

Right, just got my freeloader and SSB and I've done the double insert freeloader method to avoid the update, but when I stick in SSB it still comes up with an update message.

Do I want to go ahead and run this update? Is it safe to do so?

Edit: Do I have to do the double insert method everytime I play or just the once?

Anyone? Got my Wii sitting here with the "Update will now be applied" message. I need to know whether or not to go ahead with it or to shut off my Wii.

Yes, you need to install that update. Its not a firmware update, so it won't affect anything.

After that is done all you need to do from now on is insert the freeloader once and then put in brawl.

usually when a disc contains a update from another region and you install it on a pal wii you get double weather and news channels, i thought the Wii freeloader was supposed to stop the updates on the disc from running?

Are the double channels for the other region or for the same as your current one?

I did the SSBB update last night on a brand new PAL wii and didn't get any dupe channels

The freeloader stops the updates from hapening unless you double boot it to make it update. You have to update ssbb to play it but it is a game specific update and not a firmware update
