M8 th Winbond BH5 chips sometimes hit cas 2.0, ive seen 6 sticks 4 did 2 didnt. The CH5 chips almost always do not hit 2.0.

Even then the rest of the timings do not go as low as my ram. also as you have already clocked the ram to get 2.0 it rarely clocks mhz more whereas mine does.

Cheap ram is cheap ram for a reason, my ram is hand picked and tested at the speed advertised, you could pick any ram and get lucky with the timings, most ram will clock with extra volts (much like cpu's) If you want guaranteed performance pay the pprice.

Also Winbond is horribly unreliable and incompatiable. Re read the forums and Winbond ram is back in the gutter where it belongs.

Memory elitism i've heard it all now
Nah, i just wanted a fast stable system, i was willing to pay for it. Having overclocked since my p75 @ 90 i was just fed up with it all. I bought a 3.0 (when 2.4' go to this as a rule) my Mushkin ram (windbond can clock ok) and a IC7. Overclocking is good and fun but too time consuming, also this is the first summer for a while where my pc has not dreaded the Sun !!!!!!

Anyway im selling it all now as im fed up of pc's and games and forcing me to spend all my money on them !!

If you look on OC's website they put them in matched pairs.

When i got mine as they had only just had them and i know them in there i got mine tested for pairs and speed.

      Just what i'm told

I know they are tested in pairs m8, Twinmos do that.

        This is the spec :

        Double Data Rate architecture
MRS cycle with address key programs
         *CAS latency: CL2 / 2.5
         *Burst length: 2, 4, 8

Now its true some will run better than that, but my SPD spec is CAS 2.0 2, 2, 5.

Thats what im paying for, i could have got lucky and got cas 2.0 from Winbond or not and had CAS 2.5, as i was spending alot of money alreay the extra was imo worth it.

Most people see DDR 3200 and think its all the same, there is alot of difference in performance from one make to the other.

However the Twinmos ram represents good value for money and if you got some that hits CAS 2.0 then thats cool.
