sigh, just noticed about 3 to 5 stuck or dead pixels on my LCD TV

excellent, as if this year couldn't go any better.

I guess theres no options to sort it out as such? I'm going to give the screen a quick wipe over just incase its dust playing with me, but two of them are quite apparent.

I could just die. awesome, bloody awesome.

are they black or are they coloured?

I think if they are coloured ones, i.e. green red or blue you can sometimes salvage them.

You can get a little video that you could play on the PSP and you would just run it for a few hours and it would supposedly help. You could do it on your TV if you connect it a PC or run Linux on your PS3 and position it over a stuck pixel.

Massaging the pixels supposedly helps too
      1. Turn off the screen.
      2. Apply moisture to a tightly woven cloth (so not to scratch the screen).
      3. Using a single finger behind the cloth, apply pressure to the area where the stuck pixel lies.
      4. While still applying pressure turn the screen back on.
      5. Remove the pressure and the stuck pixel should be gone.

hmm, I've taken a look at a few guides online but I tried this link , and it did nothing

        I'll try your method now.

oh btw, they are white as such, more stuck than dead.

copied that mp4 video to my ps3, and I'm running it full screen, its like a disco or rave in here at present, I don't know if I can sit here for hours with this running, perhaps I'll go surf in the other room for a bit hahaha.

nothing is working. not one bit. oh well, I'll just put it down to not being able to have nice things without it going wrong somehow. ... awesome.

                have you tried undeadpixel? http://udpix.free.fr/

Another method is to tap the effected pixel - over and over again.

3 to 5? It's hardly the end of the world Shane. Not exactly death-inducing is it? Cheer up mate, have a joint or sommat.
                  Kept you waiting, huh?

uh, I don't touch that stuff anymore, its not 1080p like yours either joe so that means a higher stuck pixel to working pixel ratio. hah.

I left that video running overnight, it did nothing, awesome.

phoned the panasonic shop this morning and they are going to get back to me, but to be honest nothing will happen as its just gone out of its year warranty by a couple months.

                    *weeps profusely*

I guess I could get a 1080p one and flog this if nothing comes fruitful.

                    christ.

No but I mean are they really that noticable? Can't you just pretend they aren't there or sommat?

Well, what do you know, despite the fact its gone out of warranty and all that, the local Panasonic shop I bought it from are taking it in this saturday afternoon to have a look for themselves. pretty cool I guess, better than nothing at least for certain.

I still fancy a new one now though, blargh

no. once I know they are there, they are there!

its pretty much all I fixate on now, sigh, one of them you can almost see from far off, I don't think its even one where it is, more like a line of three.

                          sigh

                              What about?

Ring Panasonic again, mention the Sale of Goods Act 1979, say you do not believe the TV to be of `satisfactory" quality` or fit for the purpose for which intended. Also say that you are detailing the case and Panasonics response on a public internet forum - its got to be worth a go?

I did this with a 14 month old Sky HD box that failed, I got a new ?300 box plus free call out?

                              Good luck!
