Remote desktop comes free with Windows. Microsoft Remote Desktop client is available for Mac. I use it all the time. No time to get into more details here I'm afraid John but that should get you started.

Well, looks like I'm gonna be dropping back to Leopard soon. Firefox runs awfully in Snow Leopard and Ableton keeps crashing randomly (at least once per session) and apparently it doesn't play nice with SL anyway. Shame, really, but I don't really like Safari and much prefer Firefox.
I don't suppose there's an easy way to do this, or will I have to zap everything and install from scratch? I'm wishing I'd partitioned, now, as it would've been so much easier and I'm not looking forward to moving 150gb of stuff

Apparently when they've fixed the bugs, they're gonna release a 64 bit version of Firefox for Snow Leopard https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=468509
May be easier to wait for that? (although I dunno about Ableton, sorry!)

You'll get the dirt issue over and over again later on, but you shouldn't have to buy a new one like I did at first because I thought it was broken.
Planning to buy a Magic Mouse myself when I go back to Media Markt next month.

Surely the Magic Mouse is immune to dirt getting in the scrollball because there isn't one? I tried one out the other day and thought it was smooth, very smooth within OSX. Have heard the bluetooth connection cuts out though so I'd sit tight until it's definitely been fixed with a patch etc.

I had a Magic Mouse for a week, took a bit of getting used to but it was good. No drop outs either. Sadly it's gone back now as it was part of the iMac which has gone back (issues with Noise, flickering and dust).
So i'm back on the Mighty Mouse, or just Apple Mouse as they can't call it the Might Mouse anymore. Seems to be o.k.

Apart from Ctrl+C and Ctrl+V being changed slightly everything is very user friendly for a Apple newbie
I did have to Google how to find out how to change a file name though lol.
