PS3 vs Xbox 360 1080p support question!

So can I just check ive got this right:-

PS3 games come in a variety of resolutions. COD4 is less than 720p for example. Skate is more than 720p but less than 1080p. RR7 is proper 1080p. GT5 Prologue is 1080p in terms of vertical res but is less than 1920 across.

In terms of how the PS3 scales these games... I dunno mate.

The PS3 will just be scaling on the GPU. The difference being this uses GPU cycles, though presumably less than rendering it native.

I think the bottom line is that it's making a mountain out of a molehill most of the time. Resolution is one of the least important factors as long as it's high enough, much less noticable that textures, effects etc. That's why all the 1080p 60fps games look rather plain.
