Can't add funds to PSN account - HELP!

Well it had to happen the day Wipeout came out I suppose. I actually want to buy something off PSN and it won't allow me to add funds!

Before some cheeky git says "you sure got money in your account?" or "you broke?"......I have money in my account, so that is not the issue. I have been using my card elsewhere too and it has been working fine.

When I initially tried to add funds I was first getting a random error code but now a message comes up saying "funds could not be added to your account". Great but I get no explanation as to why I cannot add funds.

Anyone had a similar issue? More importantly, anyone know what to do?

You trying to buy from US/JPN account or a PAL account bud?
They started blocking overseas accounts to maximise frustration and profit.

I had the same problem last night. USA PS3 and PAL Account in PAL Land.

Won't let me add funds anymore.

Seeing as I live in PAL land and am using a PAL account, I think this was a bit tight of Sony. I bought the machine when I was working in Houston and brought it back, and setup a correct account for my region.

I also setup a USA account with my Houston address, and use that for free downloads like trailers and demos.

I suspect the latter is the reason my PS3/account has been banned for using the paid for service? Seems strange to me, as I only wanted to spend money with Sony!

I'm resigned to buying a PAL PS3 now.

I called customer services & they didn't seem to know anything about it, so maybe this was a network problem? I don't hold out much hope.

Yes, I've also got US and Japanese accounts, and have bought stuff through all of them.

Added funds from entropay yesterday to Hong Kong account..all fine.

US 60GB console, added funds to my UK PSN account for Wipeout from my credit card no problems yesterday.

Never added funds to my US account before though.

I added funds for this yesterday as well - US launch 60GB, bought the game from the UK store and I've bought [loads of] stuff from the US store previously, so it's not that combination.

Hasn't been flagged with your banks has it?

Just to add I also bought Wipeout last night on my US PS3 with a PAL account.

As suggested maybe it was a network problem in authorising the transactions.

I now am able add funds again and don't get the network error anymore.

Maybe they were overloaded last night?
