    Here's my settings:

    Mode: Movie
    Backlight: 5
    Contrast: 95
    Brightness: 52
    Colour: 50
    Sharpness: Min
    Colour Tone: Warm
    Noise reduction: Off
    Advanced contrast Enhancer: Off

I also have the power saving option set to 'On'. I have absolutely no idea what it does though as the manual doesn't say.....doesn't seem to have any negative impact on performance that I can see though!

From what I've read the digital 'enhancements' I've highlighted in bold are always best set to 'off' (or 'min'). I usually find that a slight tweaking of the brightness setting is all that's needed when I change sources.

It's all a bit subjective really but at least it gives you a starting point!!

    These videos are great:

Ok, stupid question(s) time for anyone with this TV..

Got the TV today and have set it up.

1 - Am I right in thinking that I need to set the picture settings for each input individually ? Settings for TV, AV1, AV2 are all separate, correct ? (hope that makes sense)

2 - I set the settings via the Menu button, and they were fine. I then was playing with the remote and found the Tools button and realised I could set picture settings again via this button, and they were different from what I had already set (again, hope that makes sense...)

Yes, a pain at first, but an advantage in the long term.
Some BRAVIAs had the option to make settings for one input, or for all. I think it's still there.

2: Did you change the Picture preset from the tools menu? From Custom to Vivid, for example?

          Cheers

as for 2, I 'think' so..

To be honest, I've been playing around with it all evening, so can't be sure exactly what I've changed..

          Will have another look tomorrow..

To answer, yes, that's exactly what I did - I had configured one Picture Mode as I wanted it, and then had switched to another without realising it.

Thanks for that - it was bugging me for a bit...

The 40" W4000 arrived earlier in the week so I might adjust my settings towards these listed here.

I have the s4000, which is basically the same as the v4000 minus a few minor bits - i noticed that when i power on the ps3 (hdmi) from a tv channel it doesn't auto detect and switch to the ps3 channel? Yet for the scart rgb dvd player it does? I tried all 3 of the hdmi's on the telly with the ps3 and no auto-switching happens? Is this normal?

I had a panasonic viera before and it did auto-detect/switching of hdmi and scarts.

Afaik, hdmi doesn't autoswitch as standard, perhaps the Panasonic used the Viera Link thingy?
