    Even WPA-PSK is a simple password - it's just that it has to use hexadecimal. I would strongly advise you to use the best encryption you can, because WEP isn't worth the paper it's written on, so to speak - very easily hacked.

    Once you've got all your devices connected you will never need to enter the password again (except if you get a new device).

      I don't understand what you mean? I thought I could just put a word or numerical password as access.

        WPA uses hexadecimal, which only uses the letters A-F and numbers 0-9. You can create a key using that, but not a standard word. Look it up on wikipedia if you want more info (that's what I did when I set up my first router.)
