I must say... I've never had probs with IE...

When it comes to *nix I use Firefox simply because it's the best available on the system and Safari with OSX but all the IE crashing stuff had never afflicted my system.

What scares me is I know a few people who DO use Konqueror! It's bad enough that they feel the need to use KDE let alone *snort* the Linux equivilant of Interweb Explorer *snort*

Have been told by a friend of mine if you are suffering from this, you need to check if there are files called "automove.exe" and / or "swin32.dll" in the windows\system32 directory firstly...

Mayhem, I think that may actually of worked. I have seen the pop-up but only when I goto a particular site which I think gave me it in the first place. Since then, Ive been on for hours with no sign of it.

                so?

                so the solution was??????

I have this annoying f*cker pestering me and I can get rid.

                so the steps:

                1) delete the files mentioned above by Mayhem?
                2) run ad aware?

or Marcus did you find another solution?

                ahrrrghhh this ones a bastard.

Do the things Mayhem said, run adaware and search and destroy seeing as thats free also. Clear your cache, cookies, and it should stop it. Worked for me in any case.

Remember to 'show all files' in explorer to see the DLL.

Really nasty piece of **** spyware

Just had the pleasure of removing a spyware program called ADlogic, god knows how it got onto my pc Grrrrr (>_<)

i was wondering why IE kept crashing and various DLL files kept crashing as well. Also my pc was swamped by ringtone pop up windows as well.

The really nisty side was if you tried to go to the adaware site it deliberately blocked access and if you ran adaware it refused you access to download the latest ref file.

Only way around it was to use my uninfected laptop and get the latest ref file and run adaware to remove it.

Anyone else have this nasty program??

Try running adware when you're not connected to the internet. :thumbs up:

Nope. I dunno how you guys get these things onto your PC.
Surely if a website pops up a "click me to install ****e" box you ALWAYS say no?
Same goes for any apps you download, whatever the source!

You should become aquainted with task manager(CTRL+SHIFT+ESC). Learn what each process is doing and you will recognize any foreign processes when they appear.

Lastly STOP USING IE with it's activex backdoors. Use Firebird or Opera.

Stop using **** like Kazaa too, suprnova or searching for mp3s using Google NEVER "Always trust content from <company>" either and update your certificates (set Windows update to automatically check for updates; don't be a ****wit and assume updates will break your PC, review them and install if required).

Block guest accounts on your PC and DON'T RUN YOUR LUSER ACCOUNT WITH ADMIN RIGHTS!

Even my missus can keep a PC cleaner than half you lot

                            *ahem*

Ad-Aware normally cures all my problems, but recently something has got on the PC that I'm having a nightmare time removing and it's causing it to run like a slug!

I was on it for three hours last night trying to clean it and everytime I ran Ad-Aware after rebooting it was finding a new things despite already removing over 300 items and manually clearing out various folders and not even connecting to the internet.

These sorts of things are such a pain in the a$$!
