How can I tell the region of a 360?

I've just bought a brand new "Japanese" 360. At least that's what I think it is. It's a premium model, and whilst the box and the documentation is indeed Japanese there is no mention of NTSC-J on the console itself. As I have no PSU I can't actually try it out.

Is there a site where I can check the serial number or something like that ?
    Kept you waiting, huh?

This might help, bit of a longshot:

EDIT: actually, doesn't list serial number, only lot.

Not without booting it up and putting a region locked game in.

There is a guy on here with a few spare 175w power supplies and I have a spare 203w PSU (and a few dirty cheap JPN games .

The guy gave me the Final Fantasy XI Beta, that'll be region locked non?

I need a PSU, a controller, an RGB cable and either a HDD or a memory card. A cheap game or two wouldn't go amiss either.

Tesco seem to sell loads of RGB cables for the 360, here at least. Very cheap too.

Link to my old thread with the remaining JPN bits left.

If you want a 203W one then we could do a deal on your r-type delta if you still have it.

A 20GB HDD should suffice for Ace Combat 6, RR6 and the shumps right?

Should do, thought I'm not sure how big all the AC6 dlc is in total.

I have two 20's and neither is anywhere near full.

The Raiden games are 3.4GB each. There's about 13GB free space on a 20GB drive so you should be OK.

What? Have them all installed on it at the same time? No chance. Just RR6 and AC6 will completely fill a 20GB drive. If you mean for just normal saves and stuff, then yeah its plenty big enough to deal with hundreds of games.

                          ^^^
                          What John said.

A 20gb hdd only has approx. 13gb useable space.

Ace Combat 6 is a 6.4gb install & RR6 is 6.5gb so you'd have very little room left for anything else after you'd stuck them on.

If you want to download stuff from Live Arcade & play all your games from the hdd, without having to continually delete / install, you'd probably be better off with a 60gb or 120gb hdd (assuming you're willing to pay the OTT asking prices).

20GB is plenty for Live Arcade games. You'll just have to play disc games from disc, rather than HDD install.

Went with a 120GB in t'end. Now I just gotta get some games.

                              Can't believe I'm J0e360 now .
