I'm using an official UK PSU.
I tried the U.S lead with a stepdown (one that I used to use for my japanese saturn, dreamcast etc. and it blew the circuit in my house!).
Can I use a Maplin stepdown for the Wii?
When you say Maplin do you mean the big 300w beast???

I used to use my US Wii PSU with that one & it worked fine.

Hope you get it back soon...did you Pay Nintendo the ?30 to repair it??
Glad they replace US Wii's makes me feel better if mine goes wrong now

Yeah, me too. £30's not a unreasonable fee compared to the MS repair fees.

Yeah, they take a while to come back though - or so they say!
I think it depends on who you speak too and what sort of mood they are as the first lady changed her tone completely when she found it was a U.S machine and told me 2-3months wait! But the second guy I spoke too didn't seem bothered and said it could be 2-3 WEEKS?! Which is much better...I think they just have to give the longer estimate to cover their back. Anyway we shall see!

If anyone does need it repaired and Nintendo won't do it, I know of a reliable guy who'll do it for £50 and is a tip-top craftsman anyhow.
