    Virtua Stick High Grade issues?

I remember reading that the VSHG has issues with certain games in terms of responsiveness. I later remember reading that the issue was solved via a firmware update - before I pack up my Mad Catz TE and replace it for my VSHG I wanted to check these issues with input lag werent there.

Googling isnt really shedding any light...

    Thanks

I haven't experienced any lag with my VSHG in the four years I've had it, inputs register immediately. I have the second (and final) revision.

Allegedly, it has problems executing one certain special in Tekken 5 DR.

The "S" model was the one with those problems I believe.

My "M" model has no problems at all - it seems far more responsive than my friend's TE also - but that's probably just me.

cool, the black finish of the stick goes better with my setup lol!

How do you know which version you have?

I got one after the recall and there are no issues with lag. A few game do have minor problems though mainly Namco fighters. You have to be a little more precise when pressing 2 buttons together in Tekken or Soul Calibur but this becomes far more noticeable when pressing down 3 buttons. Also in Soul Calibur 4 low parry is far more difficult than it should be. Other games don't seem to have any issues and I think apart from those games it feels better to than the Madcatz TE stick.

You'll find the revision engraved on the bottom plate.

"S" and "M" Revs. are fine nowadays. It had button binding issues before, which meant that it had trouble recognising three buttons being pressed at once with VF5 and Tekken 5DR.

No reason to sell it on now. I've tested both models extensively with SFIV and SSFIV with nothing to report.
                Kept you waiting, huh?

old bump, I have difficulty wondering why this needs a joy2key program to work on a windows PC. I was planning on using one for GGPO and a bit of mame basically.

Quite tempted to eventually put a ps1 pcb in or something so it works on everything.

Does anyone use theirs on a PC?

It's because the stick uses the PoV hat ****.

So if you want to use it with windows you have to use joy2key regardless? ugh how could they make something look so nice have so many bloody ballaches.

I can't remember exactly but something like that. It depends on program though, ggpo didn't mind it.

VSHG works fine for me in GGPO under XP. I had to remap buttons, but I've had zero issues. it might be that you have a 1st rev., which were tempremental even with a PS3. Check underneath, you wanna be looking at a machine-stamped M or S.

I don't own it yet but have expressed interest in one, just waiting to hear what version it is That's good news if it works with ggpo with no joy2key utility needed mind you
