That same model. Has anybody tried one of these?

I have that exact one and have had it around 8 years. It does the job perfectly for me. I run the Wii, Xbox and PS2 through it and the RGB is fine. I have hooked it up to my surround sound with the AV and that is decent too. A little buzzing at high volume but only really noticable with headphones.

That's good to hear. I saw one in the Cash Converters for £3. Should I get it?

For sure. It is brilliant. A good quality switcher and it saves the back of your tv. I am using the same widescreen set that I picked up around 12 years ago.

That's down to SCART by design. I'd be interested in a decent one.

nasty piece of equipment, look very closely and you will see faint diagonal interference. Get a joytech or a btec quintro (sp?) for zero interference and a quality RGB output

Well mine has no noticable interference at all. Must have seen a faulty one.

Nope, none at all. It is fine. I have always been very particular about my picture being of a high standard. Maybe the devices you mentioned are better, but this does a very good job.

If he can get it for £3, well worth a try.

Well, I thought that it wouldn't be worth it for something that may not work, so I bought the £3 Cash Converters one. It works very well like nakamura said, and I haven'tnoticed any diagonal interference like dvdx2 remarked on.

Nice. For £3 you couldn't really go wrong for £3. Like I said I have never had a problem and it is so handy as it runs 3 consoles in full surround. Albeit pro logic 2.

I just got two of these RGB SCART cables from Poundland, for my PS1 and PS2, to use with the switch (instead of the composite cables that i already had). They should do the job just as well as the more expensive or the official cables... right?

the only non official rgb lead that was any good (ps1/2) was by BLAZE,

this is the best, but very hard to find and expect to pay up to £40

the rest arent great, with interference, bad screening and usually output horrible screen noise). General rule for analogue cables is 'go official'. You need to pay to get a super quality picture, which is i assume is what you are trying to do. (i dont think you can expect much for £1)

Scart splitters are the same, its hard to tell the difference until you actually one functioning perfectly. I have tried many different splitters over the last 10 years and the BTEC metal cased splitter is the best one i have ever used with zero interference. The joytech metal housed splitter was excellent too. The rest have caused ghosting around edges, diagonal screen interference, fuzz, edge distortion and colour bleed.

right, heres one for £19, total bargain as they were usually £60 new

just my experience - i dont want to come across as elitist, if your happy with your £1 cable or £3 splitter thats cool!

Thanks for the links will check when I get in. My official PS2 scart is one of my most prized possessions for the reasons you describe.
