      You're telling me.

      Seems like I was too hasty with my positive diagnosis, too. I've just sat down to have another go on the system and the picture is coming out like this:





      I've tried wiggling the SCART plug that fits into the telly and to begin with it would drop back to full colour for a few seconds, but now it's stuck on this. So it sounds like the fault is with the socket end of the SCART lead, and not the unholy mess of wires on the motherboard. As much as I wiggle those, the picture remains the same.

        Looks like no green is being displayed in the signal so red and blue are mixing to make purple.

        Or only red is being displayed..

          Just cut it off and refit it, even if you can't solder you should be able to manage it, plus it'd be a learning experience! If its just the cable side it should be a lot easier.

            Damo, should be picking up a new soldering iron soon so if it's not sorted by then I'll have a look at it for you.

                I'm back in Quorn now as well, so when I do have the gear, you could pop over and wait while I try to get it working, or I could pick it up and have a go then return it to you at work.
