    Saturn power problem

My model 1 Saturn will only stay on if I keep the power button pressed down, anyone come across this issue before?

Sounds like the switch is gone.

Its probably an easy enough fix. Get someone who is good with fixing stuff to have a look. I've done more difficult things than that.

Yeah, I've had a look and I could probably replace the switch if I had the part.

Saturn isn't decent enough to be worried about really.

            YOU TAKE THAT BACK!!!

Seriously, if I were in your situation, I'd just solder over the switch legs so it's always on and I'd use the wall socket switch instead. I'd never trust something like that to blu tak because it'd come loose at the worst possible moment.

I had though about that. Should be easy enough to do. I was using my toe to hold it down yesterday, and got pins and needles.

No really, MY Saturn is in a shocking state, getting it out to play with reminded me about how bad the condition of it really was, a car boot bargain which I have more than had my ?10 worth from.

On the upside it has finally lost the smell of cigarette smoke after 18 months.

I've got a few duff saturns in the loft, pretty sure the power switch is the same on a model 1 as it is in the model 2. Want me to grab one next time I'm up there?

Doesn't the model 1 have the separate joypad/power switch boxy thing? Or is it the model 2? You could just swap the whole assembly and not even have to break out the soldering iron...

That's the first revision of the model 1.

Ooh. I love the model 1, all black with the access light. Much better than the dopey model 2 and its grey buttons, which I have.

That'd be great if it'll work. This model has the power switch by itself.

OK, received new switch from mmonkey, replaced, but still has the same fault.

Could it be something on the power board that is stopping it from staying on?

Have you tried it with the top half of the case off? To see if the case is stopping interfering with it somehow?
