    How reliable is Goblins website?

I went ahead and ordered USA GC THUG from Goblin last week, but still haven't seen it. Strange thing is though, the site reckons they have the PS2 version in stock but not the GameCube one. Shouldn't they get stock of both formats from the same place?

Hope its just a mistake, me wanna play my game

There is a thread about current delays here.

I have only used them once, but wouldnt bother again. It took a month for them to deliver a game for me, and only when I said I was cancelling an order did they say they had sent it . They seem to be good at getting out popular games, but the more obscure ones there is often delays.

hmm, thanks for the link. Maybe they have got it in, and haven't updated the site then. It better turn up sometime this week, or i might get a bit angry.

Perhaps they should try and change this "100% payment pre-order" stuff, never seems to do them many favours.

I was seriously contemplating joining the Goblin membership scheme this week in order to buy Mario Kart, but due to the volume of negative feedback voiced from existing customers I don't think I'll bother now.

I joined the member scheme, always get my games on time and have made my money back on the jap games.
I imagine that everyone that had had a good experience with them posted here, it would be hundreds of pages long. But no one makes a fuss when everything goes smoothly.

I'd be more interested to know why their ebay account has been suspended.

Probably because being sent something you've paid for really isn't something to be making a fuss about.

                  LOL.

Used them twice. Both times the game i ordered was "in-stock" and both times the game took more than 2 weeks to arrive. Simply not good enough and i certainly won't order anything from them again.

After a quick phone call, it seems that they got sent PS2 stock of the game instead of GameCube, and they now expecting it on Friday. Not really their fault then, but I still a bit miffed

I use Goblin a lot. Have done for about 1.5 years now ... I think. Never had a real problem with them. They even contacted me recently and credited my account for a sale item that never got sent. I'd completely forgotten about it as it was a big order.

I'm a member (may rephrase that) with them and must say for Jap titles it's very good value (although lik-sang are now doing free postage). Bought my Q from them too at a very good price ... sorted out through phoning them (which they are also very good at).

All in all a pretty good service. Everything prompt, nicely packaged and good communication. Then again I haven't really had probs with lik-sang or dvd-boxoffice either.

Joined them recently and placed my first order for two US GC games, which were in stock, on 23 October and still haven't received the games or an answer to the three e-mails I've sent asking about the delay.

Sure the postal strike comes into it, but that's no excuse for poor customer service.

It is somewhat ironic that I probably would have used goblin if it wasn't for this forum (with them being the site's sponsors and all that).

I will stick with Tronix for now.

                            My experience with goblin.

Placed an order for Ikaruga (US GC) on the 11th of October.

                            Waited.

                            Waited.

                            Waited.

Emailed goblin regarding the games obvious delay.

                            No reply.

                            Waited.

                            Waited.

                            Waited.

Again, I emailed goblin, again to no reply.

                            Waited.

                            Got pissed off.

I called goblin, they told me the game wouldl be sent over the weeked on the 31st of Oct to the 2nd Nov.

                            Game didn't arrive.

Called goblin again and cancelled my order. The guy was very abrupt towards me.

I'll never EVER go on that site again.

They are not a bad site and certainly try hard, their main shortcoming is their lack of staff which effects the quality of the customer service.
I am a member of their loyalty scheme and when they are good, they are excellent. I got F-Zero Jap, Mario Golf USA and GBA Pokemon Pinball all very fast and at super prices.
The thing is that even though there are all these instances of where they have been excellent it has only been a few cases where they have not been as good as they possibly could and this has made me turn to places like Tronix, NCS and Play-Asia recently who all offer similar prices but you are guaranteed a better service.
Goblin could improve by doing 2 things I reckon:

                              - Make their site have a section where you can see what has and hasn't been posted since it was ordered and when it was posted. At the very least email to say a product has been dispatched.

                              - Find a way in which credit cards aren't debited until the product is dispatched. This way items can easily be cancelled if they get late stock.

Personally this would eliminate lots of my grumbles about Goblin and make me more confident about from them.
