Ok - so it is this one - http://www.amazon.co.uk/Pioneer-PDP-.../dp/B000VIDD8M

I can't get the 360 to run in 1080p but oddly the PS3 seems to accept a 1080p signal. And for whatever reason the PS3 looks miles miles better.

          DC is next test?

Whatever, looks great, need to get a new set of speakers and wall mount it. Then. Then I will be ready to go.

How did I do? I gather it isn't the best model around but I don't know how it fits in within the grand scheme of the Kuro range.

It's a great TV, about 4-5 years old. Worth ?500-600.

The 508XD isn't a 1080P TV, it's native res is 1365 x 768, It'll take a 1080p signal with no issues though so no idea why you're having a problem. I have the same TV so if you want me to test anything out on mine let me know.

I love mine, i had a Panasonic G20 1080p TV before and the picture on the Kuro is so much better. I use this mount with mine (and 2 other TV's around the house)

It's cheap and as long as you don't mind not being able to swivel or tilt the TV it's rock solid.

Colleague at work tried setting PS? up at the weekend. TV took all signals apart from 1080p. he was sure TV was 1080p compatible. Only conclusion was faulty HDMI lead and that's what it turned out to be. Try swapping leads between ps3 and 360?

Regarding picture quality you'll need to make sure the kuro's expect colour depth matches what your consoles output.

My 720p Panny TV accepts 1080p from the PS3 but not from the 360 too.

I have the mount all ready, just need to install it! Amazingly I think this one is going to have to go in the bedroom, the current TV fits in with my storage units and I think the extra width of the Pioneer will mean it won't quite fit. I would be interested to know what speakers you are using though, currently the no sound thing isn't all that!

Re the 1080p thing, it doesn't seem to be that much of an issue, the 360 went natively to 1365 x 768 and it looked better than forcing it in to 720p. PS3 main menu looked brilliant at its natural pre-determined setting.

Another weird thing, the 360 now has a screen detect feature for size? I have tried it on my other 50" set and it thinks that the screen is 7"! What the hell!

I know we can't 'steal' settings but I have just been turning everything off so far - did you leave any of them on?

Brad - how do I do that with the colour levels? I am teh n00b.

If the TV has an option to support "RGB Full Range" (might not be called exactly that) then I believe it's a good idea to turn that on and also turn it on on the PS3. Most importantly though the two should match up. if your TV is expecting 255 levels for colour description then your PS3 should be sending 255 levels. If, for example, your PS3 was set to use RGB Full Range but your TV wasn't expecting it then you'll lose shadow detail. The other way round and I *think* your blacks can end up as greys. I'm no expert on this but I know that you ought to at least make sure the settings match between devices. On XBox i think they call the setting "Deep Colour".

Cheers. Will give that a bash now. Got it on the wall now and have a basic sound bar for the time being.

Maybe a working pic. Very poor iPhone quality.

If you find this too warm you can drop the red hi down a click and up the blue hi up a click.

                                CTI OFF

                                COLOUR MANAGEMENT
All at 0 but reduce Magenta slightly, down to around -5

                                COLOUR SPACE 1

                                NOISE REDUCTION
                                Field NR OFF
                                All others OFF

                                IP MODE 1

Make sure your PS3 is not set to full range either, for both games and in the bluray playback, set the output to RGB standard.
On the TV there is an option to set the HDMI input colour space, take it off auto and set it to colour 4 I think it was.
