I was hoping that would take off and become the norm, but it didn't. I'll just stick with what I have until OLED or something like it takes off.

Um, actually OLED is literally just being introduced to consumer sets.

The technology has been used in smartphones for a long time and has only just begun to mature. The screens in first generation Vita are inherently flawed, for example.

I remember they were talking about OLED being the new standard for LCD televisions around 3 years ago. Then they discovered issues with the the tech and it went quiet. I haven't been reading the latest tech news, so it's good to know that OLED is being introduced to consumer televisions. I guess I'll be buying one in 2 to 3 years, when the prices are reasonable.

I much rather than the 2 pointless HDMI In ports they was a VGA in myself . Anyway here's the DC running in S-Video

They arent pointless. They take 480p/720p sources and upscale to 1080p with the benefit of scanlines; fantastic for the jpn xbox 360 shooter catalogue of lower res games. They also act as an hdmi pass through/splitter should you want an untouched, clean image.

A vga input would have been nice too; i'd like to have seen my dreamcast/atomiswave catalogue upscaled/with scanlines

Its been in consumer sets for the last few years, albeit a rather expensive option.

Plasma was the best ever consumer technology for movie watching, I'll only replace mine when OLED is affordable. Standard lcd Tv's are gash.

Oh, that's kinda what I mean't. I swear I saw a 42" or so OLED TV for around ?1000 recently?

And lets hope they add in VGA support too- That to me is the only downside to the Frame and that I can't use the DC via VGA . I love the big screen set up and have done since the days of the deluxe SEGA Coin Up's and their huge 50 Projection screen . It's ace being able to play the Saturn on the 50' Samsung and where it looks every bit as good as CRT image
DC - Toro VGA box - scart - FM = win.

When you put a SNES, Neo Geo, PC Engine, Neo Geo into an LCD, the image is terrible compared to CRT; when you use a Framemeister with an LCD, all of those consoles look really nice and close to how they should look on a CRT.

Of course, if people want to fight a corner, that's their choice. I use a Framemeister these days, but had CRTs for most of my life. I fully appreciate the good points of CRTs with retro consoles. So I wouldn't argue with someone who loves CRT, because I can understand why they still like to use them. I will state the fact that the Framemeister has a good purpose in the modern world: It makes retro consoles look nice on LCD screens. People can go on about the good points of CRT and the bad points of the Framemeister, but they're missing the point that both have good and bad points - and that, ultimately, it comes down to personal preference. As someone who doesn't have space for a nice big CRT, I'm loving my Framemeister because it allows me to enjoy my retro consoles on my LCD television. That doesn't mean I wouldn't have a CRT or BVM/PVM in my home if I could have a games room, as I would.
Well said Leon Retro. Another veteran CRT user that was obsessed with RGB quality since 1988 and still is but in this modern world as you said there's only one real choice for using old on new. Plus I have ways loved the bigger image even in CRT days.

I had many great years with Sony Trinitron screens, so I have a lot of love and nostalgia for the tech. I remember how bad LCD screens were in the late-90s and early part of last decade. When LCD tech became quite good around 2008, I realised it was time to move on, so I gave my widecreen CRT to my parents and bought a huge Sony LCD in 2010. It looks great with modern games, blu ray etc.. And the Framemeister works brilliantly with it - making all my retro machines look really nice. It really does feel like having a huge Trinitron screen, but with all the good points of LCD.

Of course, the Framemeister suits me, but I fully appreciate why some people still prefer CRT for their retro machines. The Framemeister has a purpose and does a great job.

Well all that's changed is the photo being taken in the day time and I lessened the colour on the TV . Guess the HTC likes that better

Some more shots of the MS and MD and the frame . I think people are kidding themself's if they're making out the Frame doesn't look just as good (if not better) than CRT myself ...
