The 40" Bravia I have, a few years old now, comes with RF, 2 x Scart (1 RGB, 1 S-video), AV3 (composite only), 3 x HDMI, VGA, and a USB port.

Surprised DisplayPort isn't a standard connection on higher end TVs yet.

It is pin compatible with HDMI but does it have audio too?

It does have audio yes. I power both of my monitors from one port too. Amazing format.

I heard that most televisions don't have a VGA socket now, which is a bit sad, seeing the Dreamcast looks great through VGA.

Or you're like me & have an XRGB3 that outputs via VGA & I cant afford to upgrade to the Framemeister but still want a new telly

Displayport is like ethernet. You can shove multiple streams down the same line and compatible components will reassemble them. So you could feed 3 of them into a single amp and assign each to a different monitor, but have the sound come out of the same speakers. Mini displayport is also very small and low power. My dad's Intel NUC has it.

It's a shame the Framemeister doesn't have a VGA input.

Displayport to hdmi cables are ten a penny so it's not really a problem, I use mini and standard to hdmi ones often on my laptops.

Sure you don't get the benefit DP brings over hdmi mind.

                        My current PC setup is:

GPU to U2515H via DP to mDP cable, then I have a DP to DP cable connecting my U2515H to my U2410 and powering both at 2560x1440 and 1920x1200 respectively, with sound. DP 1.2 can drive two 4K monitors simultaneously too. Pretty cool.

Thanks guys, it does seem like you just need to shop around. VGA is important for Dreamcast as I don't really want to have a monitor just for that. My Saturn and Wondermega are currently hooked up through S-Video but that seems a format hardly supported in the UK. A Saturn I can probably hook up via UK Scart cable I believe although not sure about Wondermega. Might just cash in for a modded UK Megadrive.

How much do you want for it?
                            Kept you waiting, huh?

You could always buy a SCART to HDMI cable

With the Saturn, you'll need a Euro scart cable that is wired for NTSC machines. They can be bought in the UK as well as the wired for Pal cables that you don't want.

A Wondermega has to be modded for RGB scart. A Mega Drive works with RGB scart for the best image quality. C-Sync is best, because you get a cleaner image.
