D'you mean the switching box i just bought, or my telly?
I have a digital tv, d'you think it could be interference from that?

Same SCART switcher setup. I have a 21" bog-normal telly. Don't think the 'digital' in your telly is causing the interference. From what you describe you're more likely to have a loose connection somewhere or perhaps a computer with fans closeby?

Make sure the A-B and A-C buttons aren't switched on.

If you press one very carefully so as to not make it go on the other will switch off.

          Cheers for the help guys.
Checked all the connections and the record buttons, neither of those seem to be the problem, and on closer inspection it really only seems to be the X-Box that is affected.
Funny thing is the PS2 i have in the bedroom, which is the only console i own that doesn't have an official Scart cable, has similar lines.
TBH though i think its preferable to keep having to get round the back of the telly, and its saving my socket some damage aswell.

Now about to order myself one.

Lets hope it lives upto its billing. If I like it I will probably pick 2 up, I am going to have 3 argos splitters daisy chained to this thing!

I just bought one of the legendary argos RGB splitters and yes it works.

Problem is though, all my PS2 games now have a strange blue tint to them. The Xbox is fine. I tried plugging my PS2 into another socket but still looks funny.

              Any possible explanations?

Two things to check Chadruharazzeb - first that both of the A-B and A-C buttons (or whatever they are called, the 2nd and 3rd buttons on the unit) are off.

Also, make sure the scart is plugged into the splitter box properly and isnt just half in (this can easily happen if you are moving the box about a bit after plugging in the scarts).

Thanks for that. No joy though, checked the A-B A-C channels weren't mixed and that the plugs were in snugly.

One odd thing I did notice, when all 3 consoles are plugged in (PS2, GC and XB) the display is tinged with quite a strong blue hue. However, when I unplug the XB scart, the blueness is much less noticable on the PS2 and disappears completely off the GC.

Does the XB have some weird output that could be causing issues, or is it just the splitter having a fit?

EDIT, I thought we were having these splitter topics as stickies?

I get a little bit of Blue on the PS2 signal as well. I don't see it on the others, and so I think its down to the cheap scart I've got on the PS2. Its only across the top quarter or so, too - I thought I had damaged the TV when I first saw it!

I have the blue tinge around once a week although i only notice it on the DC loading screen and the PAL Saturn one,and it only lasts until i turn the console off and on again.
Is it something to do with Sega consoles, and does anyone know if 1 particular console would send interference to the rest i.e should 1 not be plugged in all the time.

I have got a GC, a DC and a Saturn plugged into a three way Argos scart splitter and picture quality is faultless. I do have a ?30 scart lead from the box to the televison. Have any of you guys experiencing difficulties running a lower quality Scart to Scart? Also, what is the length of the cable? The longer it is, the greater risk of interference occuring.

                        Cheers

Have any of you tried one of these?

                          http://www.argos.co.uk/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?storeId=10001&langId=-1&catalogId=1751&productId=87970&Trail=C$cip=12724 >C$cip=12725>C$cip=12729&categoryId=12729

It's got Oxygen free copper wire and gold plated connectors (something which the ?10 one does'nt have)

There must be another Scart connector on the side of the unit though so you can connect it to the TV. Unless you have to connect to the TV via one of the main connectorts (connector 1 i would guess) .

                          Does anyone have one?

The cable running between the TV and the 1st box is a JVC 5m one, quite long i know.
As i said before i can now hear the TV coming through AV1 when nothing is turned on and i just noticed recently that my DVD picture has the interference lines aswell, which is in AV2.

If you turn off your SKY, Cable box then you will no longer hear the TV. It's nothing to do with the scart box!!

                                Darwock,

the ?10 box does'nt mention anything about RGB either but i'm pretty certain that the Hitachi one is RGB. It looks the business and like i said it does have OFC gold plated connectors.

Has anyone tried one of these babies? They look like they're worth the extra fiver.
