MacGold is the best site I know of for games. They do free postage and certainly are cheaper than buying from shops like HMV, John Lewis and Micro Anvika.

As for strategy games, I'm not sure what is any good. Don't really play that sort of game TBH, but that site has them all.

As an XP user on his sixth installation in four months I'm inclined to agree.

Installation 1: USB 2 recommended update from Windows crippled every single USB port and wiped about 300Mhz off the processor speed (and no, I'm ****ed if I know how, assigned the same system resources to both the processor and the USB when they were fine already.

      Installation 2: Hung during reinstallation.

Installation 3: Turned the machine into a dumb terminal connected to some imaginary network. Created a password protected account, without telling me the pasword.

Installation 4: Eventually a combination of Far Cry, Norton 2004 and some weird **** caused the thing to crash, should you access Add/Remove programs with antivirus on. Paintshop Pro also somehow ****ed up, should you click on Help ever. Given the newby that I was, not being able to use help was a problem.

Installation 5: Any files left on hard drive from previous installation (did a reinstallation as oppossed to full) that were marked Private - became un****ing touchable. Could not be renamed, could not be deleted. Or accessed. Even the changing the CACLS in CMD did not work. Other interesting ****. Formatted hard drive.

      Installation 6: Working, ish.

        In contrast...

ibook g3 - 9 months old, treat it like **** and it's never skipped a beat! Have bought a G5 and have an ibook g4 on the way since then.

Although to be fair I've only ever needed to install Win2k 3 times since it's release and each instance it was a game, some beta software or my own obsessive compulsive nature that killed it.

Ok, ok, so I'm a Windows user who's thinking about buying a Mac once I need a new system again. The thing is, I was playing around with several models at a Macseller in the States and the thing that struck me most about the 12" Powerbook is that it gets REAL hot left from the touchpad and below the keyboard (probably where the CPU resides?). I didn't notice that on the similar sized iBook, nor for that matter on the bigger PowerBooks. Can't fry an egg on it, but it's close.

if you buy a PB, get it from John Lewis - online or local store - their warranty is the best (two years no quibble). Your local store may also have refurbs in stock. Applecare sucks, and isn't worth bothering with.
