Loved the demo. Ran like a charm considering some of the posts I've read here and there. AI could use slight improvement.

Other than that, FarCry looks like a nice bright tropical yin to compliment the dank radioactive ****hole yang of Stalker.

    Sold!

But then maybe I feel the gritty feel holds more realism than the colourful shiny comicbook world of Farcry

It ran like a dog on my machine

Still, I was able to play it enough to complete the demo. Nice game, will probably get it once I have upgraded.

But it really isn't about realism. It's about swimming through tropical waters, crawling through lush vegetation and other stuff. If they were going for realism then they'd have made it so you need to aim higher with the sniper rifle than the point you are targeting. FPS don't need to be about realism. Doom or Castle Wolfenstein were certainly not realistic. Doom III looks more like a weird drug trip than a realistic survival horror (this is a good thing).

It deserves another mention for including the...

            Moodmon Approach To Stealth(TM)

            Sneak. Sneak. Sneak.

            "Hey, Dave!"
            "Yeah?"
"There's a short fat guy trying to sneak around us. Well, I say sneak, I mean walk directly into our line of sight, crouching, thinking he's hidden in the undergrowth."
"I'll get reinforcements, you kill him."

Not tonight, ladyboys. Dakka-dakka-dakka-dakka-dakka. Mwhahaha, who else wants some!

Anyone else found the crashed WWII Zero yet - make a landing at the far right bay and trail up through the jungle. (You can't get in the cockpit mind using the F key).

I find the AI too clever for a one man against the world game. It made progression to me very much move/ die/ restart/ move some more/ die affair. I like the auto saves though.

This level of AI would be ok in a team based shooter (Call of Duty say) but basically got on my tits as I was solo, especially as it is easy to be killed and not even know from where the fire came.

Maybe I just need to play it more?

Id agree with you on the AI point Systemshock. Its definately a bit too clever in places. I think i mentioned earlier on in the thread that when your on the top of the island and the guards are alerted get yourself in a corner and you can pop off all the guards as they turn corners to get to you. Meaning that for me at least the top of the island before the choppers (hur hur) was a bit empty. Its impressive how they seemingly work as a team but it could probably be toned down a bit.

Just played this demo. Wow. I was looking forward to it before but now I can barely wait. Loved the AI. Loved the setting.

I had no problems running it either - ran like a charm in fact.

Just got this off the cover CD from PC Zone ( thus avoiding making my 56k connection have a nervous breakdown ).

Very impressive game and pretty as hell - I love standing on top of the island and looking down

The game ran pretty well for me too with only minimal tweeking.

Looking forward to this one and should fill the gap nicely before H**f-L**e 2 is out ( in 2008)

Well its lovely stuff - more of the same, which given that I enjoyed the first demo, isn't a bad thing

Some lovely picturesque scenery, and very challenging too - some people on the Ubisoft board are bemoaning how short and easy this demo is.

While it may be a bit short ( it is a demo after all ), I didn't find it too easy at all

                              Excellent. Excellent. Excellent.

                              I really am enjoying this.

                              Can't wait for it. I really can't.

I tell you what I was impressed with - how well my compartively lowly 2200/ti4200 coped with the engine, despite its spendour. I've gotten so used to SWG bringing my machine to its knees that this was quite a refreshing change tbh.

Thoroughly enjoyed the demo, can't wait for the full release. Even if it comes on DVD.
