Aye, GKWorld is full of bootlegs. Most are nearly identical to the original copies, and include the Obis (spinecards). Look for the publishers name on the cd - if it says Everanime, SonMay, Allion it is a bootleg.

I've recently been hunting the FF OSTs, with decent success. Need another 3 to complete my collection

Know where you can get FF7/8 for a cheap(er) price?

Bootlegged FF CD's - gkworld.zoovy.net (or something, posted earlier in the thread)

Digicube (genuine) FF CD's - goldust. Ridiculously tough to find. www.gamemusic.com is a good source. Amazon(s) WERE a good source, but seem to have run out. Ditto CD Japan. Digicube went bust so now CD's pre FFX-2 are out of print.

From the prices, it's just possible that some of the soundtracks might be genuine. That one obviously isn't though

You could also try amazon.co.jp - I had a look there a while back and their prices (inc. shipping to the UK) were much better than I'd found elsewhere. Dunno if that's still the case, but it can't hurt to check them out.

Was just about to say the same as DjSatansFury pointed out, that site has a lot of bootlegs on so you can't really be guaranteed at all

Only problem is customs. Comes in a giant amazon envelope so you get eaten

Well, I'm an idiot. They do seem genuine though. My JSR OST is identical to the scans of the official one, with only the small print saying "Ever nime" instead of "Polydor". Comes with a little fold-out credits leaflet and everything. Is there much actual difference between the pirates and the originals? Sound quality and so forth?

The funny thng about Ever Anime CDs is that they've even got the "unauthorised copying... prohibited" text on them.

I'm currently looking for the original Digicube FF7 soundtrack but the ones on Ebay are nearly all bootlegs afaik.

Bootlegs tend to be of pretty much the same audio quality, theres only so many ways you can burn a CD after all. The main difference is who the money goes to...

I was outbid by 1 measly ****ing dollar on a second hand copy from a very reputable Japanese seller. So gutted. My own fault, should have just put a huge bid in and left it.

Must say i got the gitarooman soundtrack off ebay for 10quid which was an everanime production, i must say the quality is awsome from the print on the cd, the sleeve and even spine is so well done. Also music quality is perfect, if its just the music your after go for them bootlegs but if your looking to collect, now man thats a tough business.

I have some game soundtracks from Everanime, and like darksteve said, they are (in their own bootleg way) high quality.
