Out of the hundreds of packages out there I am afraid it looks like you probably chose the worst of the lot.

    ?16 for 128k !

and then look at there terms

1 Commencement and Duration of this Agreement

1.1 This Agreement commences on the date you accept these terms (by clicking on the "I accept" button during the registration process) (the "Commencement Date") and will continue for an initial term of 12 months (the "Initial Term") and indefinitely thereafter unless terminated earlier by either party in accordance with Clause 13 of this Agreement. Our Acceptance of your application for Broadband services is subject to us performing a credit check on you and being satisfied in all respects with the outcome of the credit check.

2.3 We do not undertake to provide a fault free service. .....

    Now most people would start,

2.3 We do undertake to provide a fault free service, however....

I would get onto them and say that as they can not provide the service for which you are paying, you are terminating the contract.

    Good luck

So do you think it is possible to terminate this account, as ive only had it for less than a month and i believe it is a total rip-off.

Check the links I posted earlier, they may well have instances reported on their forum about other people trying to terminate contracts of this kind.

Tell them that you have a friend who has braodband and he brought his laptop round to yours, set up a connection with your account and he gets the same thing, slow web pages, timing out etc. So you know it is the connection and not your computer, as his works flawlessly on his connection.

Tell them that you can't even use it at the moment and you will be going to watchdog about it unless they terminate the contract within 7 days.

Er, that's sound advice actually. When at BTOpenworld I couldn't recommend people format their machines, but would often suggest people attempted to borrow a modem or a laptop if possible, to demonstrate one way or the other if it was connection (read: BT being **** again) or their PC.

                Check your contract.
Before signing upto my broadband with BT nearly all the ISP's I checked had between a 2 week to one month cooling off period where you could cancel if you are unhappy.

According to http://www.tiscali.co.uk/products/br...ode=ZZ-NL-11XY , point 13.3 from T&C's on the left, you have 14 days.
