its a first person horror game called The Bridge Curse 2: The Extrication, its got a uk release but i liked the jpn box art more and that one is in english as well.

It's a fantastic shmup, people rag on it saying the graphics are bad but they are totally missing the point it's trying to remain faithful to it's series legacy. The levels music & game mechanics are all really good, thankfully that box set contains the dramatic mode dlc on the cart/disk however the ship dlc may not be valid now although weirdly on switch version when i opened mine the dlc slip expiry date had already passed and yet weirdly when i tried it the eshop still accepted it. The ship DLC is totally great too as it changes how the ships behave compared to the main one in the game they all behave in their respective ways from each series changing up how to play.

I think the graphics are fine but what's not fine is the poor scaling. No matter what mode you play in, there's shimmering on the graphics. This is not due to the Retro style because retro games didn't have shimmering.

I thought that if played IN tate mode then the shimnering would go away as that is often the case but not in this game. It is quite a shame.

The actual game is fun though and well worth playing. It also has some pretty cool tunes.

Yeah the shimmering is not great but it’s something you quickly stop noticing when things get hectic. The scoring is addictive having to be a certain ship colour for the rings and boxes adds in challenge. Kind of wish they’d put the older cresta games in a compilation, 2 of them are on eshop under the arcade archives but it would be nicer to have them all together as a physical.

Yeah, I was hoping the originals would be unlocable but as of now I've only unlocked the sound test and a few game modes.

The extra dlc ships change how the game plays, each one uses the rules of its respective game. Gives a fun refresh after hammering the game with the normal ship.

Think i I got shmups confused might have been psyvariar delta that had the expired dlc ship code in the box (or maybe not I have way too many shmups now it could be another). As in this game there’s 3 extra ships and the code on the slip I remember only was for one so it can’t be this game.

Yeah, I think you may have gotten that one mixed up. I had a look before but there was no DLC code with Sol Cresta.
