Wow, thanks for the praise everybody! Like I said though, that score can be beaten...ahem, already have done, but I won't update until somebody beats the original. Don't worry, wasn't by much!

Adam, my strategy was already like yours, the exception being and I'll qoute your method first:

- Now run back through the door, kill quickly. Then a honed masked enemy with 2 or so followers should come through the gate (via a cutscene) ? throw a flash, run past, shot one of them to keep the combo going. Run through the door. Pick up the time extension, and final Chest Bonus. Be quick to keep your combo going strong?

Here I shoot the barrel and kill the 3 who come out of the door, then I'll procede to kill the 2-3 guys with crossbows. Notice how you'll be getting incoming fire from the crossbow from the opposite side of the Castle? This guy respawns very quickly, so I always make sure I have sniper rounds ready for him. Just hanging around this area, enemies can hoard up leaving you no option save to use a grenade at points. Eventually I find I should make a beeline for that great door you guys hid from me whereby I run straight in and collect the Bonus Time and kill as many as possible. I usually have about 3.40 on the clock at this point, and after the intial kills in the room and the blindys, the enemy tends to dry up. Also, sometimes that guy I mentioned with the crossbow (the other side of the Castle) will still be able to respawn once you enter the room, sometimes he doesn't though. He comes in handy when he's around and you need quick kill to keep your combo up.

That's a ton to read I'm afraid! Think I'll work on the Villiage stage next, my scores pretty low compared to what can be achieved. Think I need to change my route and maximise one of the Bonus Time Multiplier's.

Ah i dont believe it...

Not only do i not have any milk (to make tea) or apples (to keep my energy going... not that apples are full of energy mind, still its something to devour) but i've just got my highest score yet and then died with only 4seconds left!

pfft. Still, i made quite a few fatal errors just then so will attempt it again taking my time to make sure every hit counts...

Thought I was never gonna do it since I was getting around 170K mark most times then suddenly I jumped all the way to 200K!

I think your tips helped though taurusnipple, since I usually make a dash for the final room ASAP but this time I just killed as many as possible before I went in. Once my 102 combo was broken I dashed in there, killed the first blindy, opened up the bonus chest and started chucking grenades around like mad. Killed the 2nd blindy then just finished the level off killing as many as possible.

Now its your turn Mr Adam Stone Sir (AKA lover of granny smiths and golden delicious). You just need to stop dying.

Thanks guys. I used to think getting one massive combo wasn't too important but I'm just wondering what score I could have got if the combo wasn't broken. So that will be my aim now - to go through the whole castle level without breaking my combo.

Though my girlfriend said to say she?s ?feeling like ****E!!and she is goin to die!? heh, bless her heart.

Off back home in a sec (at my brother?s now) then trying to look a little bit presentable, then back to the pub for a beer and burger. Aww, lovely stuff

Then, the evening will be spent with Resident Evil and trying to regain my castle score.

The funny thing is, my last score was gained with me playing the worst I had ever played ? I missed targets left right and center, wasted time, received too much damage and had no strategy or skill?whatsoever.

Anyhoo? best go and sort myself out. Have a good lazy Sunday guys!

Okay?. Well, that wasn?t funny in the slightest.

Today?s been going scarily as planned. Went to pub, had a few laughs and giggles whilst enjoying my girlfriend?s, brother?s and friend?s company. Ate a sinfully delicious burger (burger and beer only ?4. Nice) and then came home and relaxed in Jo?s arms whilst listening to music. Perfect?

Then, after a nice little chat with mum, thought I would settle down with RE4 and start the taxing ?Chief Castle Challenge? (ahem)

I surprised myself with how well I was playing (I don?t mean that big headedly, simply that I was playing 100% better then any of my previous efforts) and I was at the end with an impressively high score AND still with a couple minutes left (and the bonus chest! And the two Mr Blindys!). With a slight smirk I continued to kill and destroy ranking up my score but then? *sigh* but then I witnessed a new death animation I would have much rather had not seen. A buggering bloody blade (I cant remember how to spell the actual word? it?s the weapon commonly associated with Death the GrimReaper) came cascading through the air and, with one clean slice, cut of Wesker's head!!

Grrr?.

After this cup of tea I?ll attempt it again, but I cant help but to feel that my one chance to completely and utterly destroy the Chief Castle Challenge has slipped through my fingers?

Ah well. *sips tea*

Well, finally got into the 200000 mark and kept my score without dying! Hurrah. But it wasn?t nearly as good as my previous attempt before i met an unexpected death...

I need to work on making sure I have more time at the end?

Not played anything today, had a headache this mornin, then watched Heat - not seen it in forever, well brill that film! Will play some tonight and see what I can do.

Its actually spelt scythe and you can get one here if you really want one! Oh also, I hope you meant Weskers head getting cut off instead of Leons. Since it would be truly amazing if you could get a 200K score with Leon in the castle.
