PSP Online Infastructure Mode gaming match ups/requests

So has anyone actually used this wireless multiplayer feature yet with their new PSPs ?

I searched for some games of Wipeout yesterday to no avail, and so set one up which nobody connected to during the minute or so that I left it.

I have to say it's not all that surprising but would anybody fancy a game?

Also I imagine across the internet in infrastructure mode this should be able to connect with people in the US - am I right? (although lag time may be a limiting factor)

I've played Greztky online using the built in online mode - worked ok, but it's kind of weird as there's no way of chatting or interacting with the opponent, so it might as well be the CPU.....

I'm up for a game against someone on here if other people have it...

hmmm you say you were trying with Wipeout Pure? I was under the impression that this game didn't have an online mode.

When you search for wireless games on WOP you are actually looking for games being hosted nearby.

Yeah, WipeOut does work online over Xlink.

                Wouldn't mind some games either!

Provided people have the right setup :/

no I was being a muppet and assuming it was using my infrastructure profile that I had just set up and tested

So I'm not sure if I can get xlink to work with my setup - I have a NetGear Access Point & Modem in one - don't you need a seperate card or something for peer-to-peer connection ?

Yeah, you need a seperate card and not a wifi router (which i have ) - i have a spare wifi card knocking around somewhere, but it's a lot of effort putting it in just to try this

Has anyone tried this yet? Supposedly a way to access all of the PSP's Wi-Fi capaibilities (including Xlink/Kai) with nothing more than a computer and a wireless adapter. I've ordered a Dlink Wireless adapter basically because I can't afford a Wireless router now, and can always return it if it doesn't work.

Just realised something, I was playing Gretzky with my mate via infrastructure earlier, he was using his wireless and I was using my neighbours which he doesn't lock!

But this means I won't be able to play him via Xlink Kai on any other games because the connection isn't coming through my PC!?

                        Correct? If so...

I doesn't look anything new...people have been doing this since the release of the PSP (there's a few threads on here about it). I bought a USB dongle on the back of it a few months back to play Ridge Racers via Xlink.

Ummm, so which games DO have a native Infrastrucutre mode built-in? I thought Metal Gear Ac!d did, but must only be ad hoc too.

                            Gretzsky? ummm...?

Twisted Metal has Infrastructure mode and a nice online lobby for setting up games. I think Untold Legends has it as well although I am not sure because I've just read about it.
