Far Cry Xbox

Well I must say this more than redeems Ubisoft after the debacle of Lockdown. No lag, beautiful graphics and gameplay and loads of fun.

Spent most of the evening in Predator mode. Very tense as the heartbeat starts kicking in, with loads of shouts of 'he's here already!'.

Had read that it played run and gun, but with the right weapon selection and the right people it can be stealthy. In fact you can play it anyway you want. The levels are absolutely gorgeous and the amount of freedom to use vehicles, traps ziplines is superb. The aiming and bullet physics seem spot on to me as well and there were no cheap kills. Nothing to knock really bar the menu system being a bit non intuitive. Top stuff and the benchmark for Xbox graphics. Shows that there was plenty of gas left in the Xbox just before it has to be dragged offstage.

My first impressions of it are great. I had a fair bit to drink last night (ended up on the 9% Belgian beer), and woke up at 6:00 and couldn't back to sleep. So I made a nice CTF map with the editor.

I've played a match or two online and I'm a fair way into the single player. The graphics are amazing, and I'm loving the variety of the vehicles.

Played this for over 4hrs last night , and it never got boring once online. The only trouble is get more that 7 players and its lag city

You just need to find someone with decent upload. It isn't the game's fault -it is the same with all games.

It gets better!!! just spent a few hours using the mapmaker. The amount of stuff available and the ease of use is absolutely superb, almost a game in itself!!!. The way you can instantly flip into the game and test it is awesome. The maps download to other players Xboxs in about 2 minutes and they they then save on their h'drives so probably after that initial load will load up quicker than the maps on the game disk!!!

Finished single player mode this morning. Not much of an ending and you get nothing for completing the game. Bummer!

Some absoluteyl sueprb games last night with Yoshi, Bleeders, Gerry, Boris and Family Fish (Dark Steve from here I believe).

Gerry custom map made for some hilarious scenerios, the best being me and him colliding mid air on quads while we came from opposite ends of a 2 way jump... then fell into hte water together. Totally unplanned and had me rolling about laughin, great stuff.

Some really great matches aswell with some nice 'Steal the sample' games. Sneaking about in the grass undetected by the radar has some amazing results

Gonna be on for a good bit this week hopefully between this and the fantastic BO: Revenge.

Flying a glider towards an enemy base, raining down bullets while whistling 'Flight of the Valkyres' will be my new trademark entrance after its success last night great fun!!

That machine gun/grenade launcher is an absolute BEAUTY!! Dutch would have been proud of the way I wielded it last night (before Yoshi, Gerry and Boris ambushed me from 3 angles and slaughtered me like a boar).

A one on one V a pred with the Merc using that gun would be ace, just like the movie, hehehe.

Steal the sample works so well it's insane. Mardigan & Myself played it on the "warehouse" map on Friday night and the way the game balance swung back & forth showed it has been tuned to death.

Either that or we were a nice, even match
