Probably when the host deliberately chokes the bandwidth, thus your end suffering and allowing the host to run up the other end, unchallenged, to score I think.

It should tell you on your ISP's website what your upload will be.

Is there any easier way to find a match on this? I've had it since launch day and have managed to have a massive one game on Live. My invitations are constantly rejected when I try and optimatch (usually within 0.1 second of choosing an opponent), and I only ever get one result every 10 minutes or so anyway. If I try and create a match I can be sitting there for half an hour waiting for a challenger and having absolutely nothing happen whatsoever.

I am getting really frustrated with it now.

To get the most out of it you should have plenty of folk on your friend list who play it, that way you have people to invite and vice versa. Add the folk from this thread for some good games.

Just finished some great games with Marmite there. He won the first 2 then I won the next 3 with the final game being settled by a penalty shoot out. We both got goals in extra time, making it a fantastic edge of the seat game. H

Had some amazing games with Yoshi and Gerry earlier aswell, really enjoying it so far, with my massive 67 games played on live testament to that more, more, MORE!!

I was gutted in that last game. Finally got a goal after a about a million shots (albeit a really scrappy one that came off your defender last), then my keeper goes walkabout in the last minute of extra time and you just slip the ball down the side of my enitire defence and slot it in with literally the last kick in extra time. I knew i would lose on pens after that!

Will have to have some rematches soon - i will probably next be on over the weekend, mainly sturday and sunday duiring the day i imagine. I also need to practice with some other teams. That was my first go on the xbox version of Pro Evo 5 last night, and playing online does take a little getting used to again. Whoever said its all about taking your chances was spot on.

That is what I have found out over the last few days, you HAVE to take your chances and that was the difference in all the games I played last night. I never make more chances than my opponent or have more shots on goal but I still get the goals. I tend to take my chances when they are there.

In some of the games Marmite you had like 16 shots to my 6 but I won 2-1. The finishing has got to be spot on and that is what makes the difference in 5. My finishing is getting better with each game.

Thought it was all over when my boy missed the first pen then missed the 3rd. Had to pull off 2 great saves to stay in it before your boy ballooned one over the bar in sudden death. Some great games though mate and you will get better the more you play it on live.

Finishing is the key in this though, you just cant afford to miss chances against some players. Word of warning boys, I dont make a barrel load of chances but I take the ones I get, hehehe. Yoshimax will testify to that having watched my Adriano put 4 past him in the semi final of a wee cup we done last night. The big Brazlian is a monster!!

Im blaming some of the shots i blazed over on my power bar dissapearing on me, or just jumping suddenly to a level much higher than i had wanted to apply. Thats my story and im sticking to it!

What teams are we all using chaps? I've gone for Man Utd, Valencia, Lyon and Bayern, so will use a mix of these when playing.

For me so far its been Barcelona, Chelsea, Inter and a cheeky wee Deportivo. All use the same strategy that I have saved and it works well with the players from each team.

Inter my team of choice at the moment with that X-man Adriano but Barca with Ronladinho on the wing is another favourite!!

Liverpool all the way when i get this. Losing hurts and winning is great. I simply don't 'feel' when i use other teams...

Ive been using Man Utd mainly, just cos the formation works so well for me. I dont mind Juve at times, although i miss the pace on the wings. Think i need to stock some formations and use them with other teams - its all about the wide men for me.

What settings do you guys use then? I noticed a lot of people like to have wide men pushed really high up the pitch for quick and easy breaks

he has got a tyrannosaurus left peg, if we do start a leauge would we eliminate certain powerful teams like chelsea, inter, madrid etc ?

PSV are pretty decent as are Bulgaria, need to go Scotland at some point....

I use individual settings for all the players; I play a straight back-four that doesn't attack and doesn't leave my half of the pitch, as not to get caught on the counter, like to try and keep things solid.

Attacking-wise, I try to mix things up, since I don't like to be predictable since often on LIVE, manz run out of ideas when you thwart their only real attacking threat (Henry merchants take note!)
