I aren't the almost God-like figure you are on that game mate!
I sold both Call of Duty 3 and Project 8 when Crackdown was released so I cannot play them unless I ask one of my friends if I could borrow the game(s).
I thought I did quite well on Project 8 until you came along Mr. Davidson and to be honest, after playing Project 8 on my friends PS3, it is hard to 'go back' to the Xbox 360 pad when the Sixaxis feels more comfortable for the sort of game - very much like playing beat 'um ups or PES from the PS2/3 to the Xbox 360.
I think I'll carry on with Test Drive for a bit more longer then go from there.
E.T was saying in another thread about how the difficulty of games are not taken into account by league tables.
Well, they are here ... the Weighted Gamerscore table is doing just that. I kinda thought it was well-publicised by now, but here goes, one more time.
The difficulty of each achievement is calculated dynamically by figuring out how many players of that game have got the achievement. If a lot of players have got the achievement, its value decreases proportionally.
For example, here are the top and bottom 5 games according to "weight".
750 SAMURAI WARRIORS 2
737 F.E.A.R.
712 Ridge Racer 6
701 Tony Hawk's Project 8
647 Rainbow Six? Vegas
...
87 King Kong
85 Pimp My Ride
82 Eragon
73 NBA 2K6
29 Madden NFL 06
The number indicates how many points your WEIGHTED gamerscore will increase by if you get 1000 "normal" points in those games.
Ah peeveen, thanks for explaining it to me although it seems this wasn't your first attempt at explaining the weighted scores; my apologies.
It seems that those with import games would benefit from this particular leader-board as seigfreid's profile clearly shows! I'm glad it is taken in consideration because it allows others to view it from a different perspective than the 'who has the highest...' discussion.
It seems that those with import games would benefit from this particular leader-board
And also those who play unpopular games. SAMURAI WARRIORS 2 the hardest 1000 on the 360? I think not.
Presumably, it's "weight" is so high because only three people have played it, with two having done the required 5% for it to qualify for peeveen's system. Whereas, something like Football Manager 2007 or DOAX2 - equally unpopular games, but genuinely difficult (or at least time-consuming) 1000s, will carry no "weight" at all since not enough people have the required 50GS for them to be graded.
So the system isn't quite perfect. I'm not complaining though, because for the games that a reasonable amount of people have played, it does work well. There's no denying a 1000 score for F.E.A.R. and RR6 is quite rare.
Peeveen/DavidHolliss, keep up the good work as always, but a suggestion if I may.
Would adding another category or two that seperated Live Arcade games from retail ones be too much work? If so, forget it of course, but I think it would be interesting to see the completion percentages etc for XBLA games seperately, along with the usual stats.
Was chatting to peeveen yesterday and he suggested that the 5% limit was to eliminate the appearance of demos - demos appear on your profile but don't provide gamerpoints. I think he said that retail demos can be distinguished but XBLA ones can't, and that's why the limit is there.
Still loving gamerpoints, have been completely uninterested in XBLA until last weekend, started playing Hexic and loved it. Got last achievement for 100 games last night which makes 200/200 for Hexic *proudly displays Grand Pearl Pooh-Bah badge* so i think i might delve into marketplace and find something else to try.
Of course there will be anomalies, but it's to be expected. This is a "ballpark" solution, and saves me hours of manual administration. I love achievements and stats, but not that much.
something like Football Manager 2007 or DOAX2
I should have been more specific: the list I gave above is not actually the top 5 hardest/easiest games according to the program ... the numbers are actually the weighted scores that some players have currently got in those games.
So if anyone managed to get any points in FM2007, those points would be weighted at 100% (provided there were 2 or more players).
And similarly, points in DOAX2 at the moment would be worth about 99%.
Separate Retail and XBLA leaderboards etc would be nice yes
I'll work on providing XBLA/Retail tables at some point, as spare time permits.

I will be stuck with a score of 29775 (78.1%) for life as I sent my Xbox 360 back to the repairs centre along with my - *groans* - hard drive.
In this unfortunate scenario, I cannot for the life of me remember any of the hotmail/MSN details my Brother 'made up' for my gamer-tag when I joined Xbox Live so you might want to take my name off the leader-board for good otherwise you will be stuck seeing my profile/score till the end of time.
It was fun whilst it lasted and I hope that one day I will get back in the mood to gain achievements all over again, if not quite with the same enthusiasm as I used to have.
You are doing a good job as ever with the stats too, peeveen.
