Seriously though, a few amazing races - the one on New York where the gap was 1.8 sec, 1.9, 1.9, 1.8, 1.8, 1.9. 1.8. It was like a metronome! Awesome stuff.

Shame I won't be online for a couple of weeks because I'm heading back to Scotland, but see you on the track then!

nope, it was a terrible performance from my side, and being rammed of the track twice by that idiot didn't help either... still we had some good races !

there were some good racers as well in the lobby, that xbox guy on the Leguna Seca was really consistent, couldn't made a pass anywhere on him..

how close was that race on the Nurburgring ?! especially me ****ing up the last part you overtaking me and making a mistake aswell .... so now you know how I feel all the time !

I'm thinking about getting DeadSpace so I'm not sure if I'll be online next week...

Yeah, great racing - that American guy was a cool dude. Was good to see lurch joining as well, it's been a while since some others from the forum joined.

As usual that race at New York was ridiculously close, some times just two tenths apart....

OK guys, game's arrived
What are the rules for this? I've just bought a celica and have a few mods (only raced a few races so far), looking forward to some good races. Still getting used to the handling and tracks...
I have ABS and traction control off... do you guys? I want to make it as close as possible.

Myself and Force race with all the assists off, but you can race with whatever you want mate.

As to classes of cars, we usually race the R classes, especially R3. My recommendation would be to get through a fair chunk of the career mode, as that way you'll get used to all the tracks, the handling of various different cars, and most importantly pick up some of the faster better cars in your garage.

I have been getting through a bit of the career mode, will keep going. The only thing I race with at the moment is the braking line assist as I am still learning the tracks. I was racing at Tsukuba at the weekend and went straight into a wall, head first, because it was the long or short version and I wasn't paying attention

What kind of cars are in the R classes? I have a couple of tuned cars (need to buy new brakes ) in my garage already, but they're only showing A or B - so I guess R is faster still. Had a go with a U class and kept it on the track, so that's a start.

I'll put in a fair few hours and then I'd love to join in.

Hi mate,

The R classes are the ones above U class. Basically you can't buy parts for these cars, you can only tune them - they are racing class cars.

There are R4, R3, R2 and R1 (which is the fastest). Personally, my favourites are R3 and R2, tricky beasts to control, especially with the assists off.

To get these cars, you have to progress through career mode and reach a certain driver level, at which point they become available to buy.

If you are struggling to get one of these cars in time and want to race in them soon, let me know and I'll donate a couple of them to you. I've got so many free credits from online multiplayer that it's ridiculous, so that would put them to good use.

I'll keep playing through career mode (got a work deadline this friday so mileage will be low) and see how I go for a bit.

Might take you up on a donation when I start to get to know the tracks. That would be very kind of you.

I really like to race. One reason I stopped playing Project Gotham so much was all the kids on live that kept ramming people off the track or just being stupid all the time. The only time I would touch in a race would be if one of us made a mistake whilst we were close.

I think I remember correctly by saying if you complete all the time trials you will unlock a bunch of the stock spec cars including the ever popular R3 Ferrari F430. This should only take a few hours and gives you plenty of vehicles to play with online.

I've not had a free Thursday (any!) evening in weeks but hope to be able to join in again soon.

yep, if you finish the arcade mode you unlock cars you can use online (but not in career mode)

would be nice to have some more people joining again online.
