Just spent the last 40 minutes racing Clum's ghost and finally got there!.. I've sent my new ghost to you if you get the chance to race it, Clum - reckon you should be able to beat it if you have the chance as I noticed with your ghost that you don't do any drift boosts at all!? I couldn't copy the jumps you do up the inside corner of the first bend after the big jump and the very last corner very well so your ghost was always ahead of me for most of the lap, but by drift boosting I could usually catch up and overtake and then it was just a matter of trying to stay ahead, especially after you went wide a bit wide on the last corner of the 2nd lap.

R3z and Clum can you send us your ghosts when you get chance please. No rush as I wont be adding another time but I collect em and race em offline now when we finished that course lol

I dont mind the track but for me its just not skill MikeF for the majority competing unless their going to know about every little shortcut and nothing about being good at drifiting or kart/bike skill. I just didnt have more than 10-20mins to do a quick go tonight for this entire few days and I know Ive missed one (probably jumping that s bend knowing me). I know theirs something wrong when I beat the expert on my first go though without blinking on this one lol

I dunno.. I quite like finding out little ways to improve further. Like Mike said earlier, at the start I couldn't really see how the times were going to get significantly lower.

Actually it's not really shortcuts which are being used either, just taking a different route to avoid the thick snow, and also using a technique to take certain tight corners (which I think you would have to say takes a bit of skill - as can some shortcuts, which there has always been loads of in Mario Kart games!).. in fact it's almost exactly as can be seen in the world champ ghost which I first mentioned I was copying on Wednesday, so people could've had a look at it even if they weren't able to get mine or Clum's ghosts (the big difference from the champ ghost is not doing that short canyon jump as it's too tight to do in a kart). The "jumping on the inside corner" technique on the two corners I mentioned before is the main thing which is key to saving extra time but it is quite hard to pull off (you can see it in my ghost, but the world champ and Clum do it better/more consistently) - probably as low as 2.06 is possible as I got a 41.7 lap time when I got it spot on both times.

At the time I saw the ghost I thought it wasn't possible to go much under 2.14 as I had only seen the expert ghost, but someone mentioned the champ ghost so I checked it out.. seems pretty logical to check the world best time right from the start now!

Actually I picked the next course and it seems to be one with a few shortcuts/alternate route possibilities.. and maybe some elements of luck come to think of it! Adding to that I chose a vehicle type that a few people didn't get on with last time, so it looks like I could be joining MikeF on the blacklist Apologies in advance

I disagree Dazzy, there are no real shortcuts on this track. You have to rely on skill and alternative routes to get lower times. I wasn't skilled enough to get the final corner nailed so that is why my time is 4 seconds slower than the best.

I mentioned the world ghost as I always watch them to see what routes they took, I can get nowhere near the times or routes usually but at least it gives you an indication of where the best times can be made

don't worry r3z we can form our own little club

Looking forward to tonights attempts now (assuming its a bike by the comment made)

think i could do better than that also, was using r3z 2:10 ghost to race against and was getting 2sec ahead from the second lap.

              edit: what i used
