Well I had a fair bit more variety on ranked matches last night than so far: couple of Blankas, Bison, Balrog, two Vegas, Cammy, Ryu, Sagat, Viper, Sakura, Zangief, Akuma. Only two Kens I think.

Yeah, I think it's been a case of people diving in with what character they know best since they last played SFII in 1977. Maybe people have taken time out to explore other characters.

I've still not met another Rufus online.

i was going to quit at 9 anyway. fifth elements on tv, must watch it for the millionth time.

Yeah, things seem to have gotten "worse" recently, finding a lot more Ken scrubs (and the occasional player who CAN actually use him properly). I'm finding the non-Ken battles a lot more interesting... even some Sagat on Sagat action from time to time. Needless to say, it's facing the non-shoto people that's a bit harder (especially El Fuerte, yes I've had a couple of them, and Fei Long) but old school tactics FTW.

Sagat's long legs can just about deal with ruddy Zangief... oh and before I forget, the number of people who delight in just trying to spam special moves appears on the up, especially those who choose Vega (which I've had a fair few as well) and then crumble when I manage to get in close and wreck them...

My pet peeve is the Zangief players who simply crouch and defend, spamming the lariat every time you try to attack them. Oh and Akuma players who only seem to do the air fireball for the whole freaking match.

Amazingly the other day I played one Blanka and although he may have been just taking the piss, all he did was the electric shock thing. Literally no other attacks. All I did as Cammy was build up my bars and repeatedly us EX spiral arrows to defeat him. The funny thing was though to begin with I got hit by jumping into him about three times, he must have thought I was a right weenie at that point.

I played a Blanka once who had me down to a sliver of health (I hate Blanka) then all he did was shock, knowing that I needed to come to him before the time ran out. He waited THREE SEPARATE TIMES while I patiently inched to the perfect sweep distance, delivering the killing blow with the last sweep. I ****ing cracked up.

All SFIV nUbs 'n' Scrubs - Report To The Dojo Immediately!

I may be asking in the wrong place, but I'm looking for some others SF n00bs, rookies, crows and scrubs for online matches on 360. Or failing that, some people kind enough to teach me some of their mad skills.

I know a lot of the members here have kept their hand in with the series over the years by playing at least some of the many releases. Myself, I've barely touched a fighting game since playing SFII on the SNES as a kid. Well it seems I'm in the minority because in online matches I'm properly pasted. I feel like a rookie amatuer who's ended up in the ring with Mike Tyson himself - the skill gap is so wide I can't even hope to compete.

I'm pretty serious about learning to play well and will of course remain patient and gracious in getting my ass handed to me. My gamertag is below for anyone who wants to take pity on my ass add me. Feel free to hit me up if you happen to see me on the game but not in a Live battle. Same goes for anyone already on my friends list!
