Never had it on so I wouldn't know. I think it just keeps you away from the walls if you are approaching them at a shallow angle. Sounds like cheating to me; there is little more satisfying than absolutely nailing the entrance, apex and exit of a corner

It's not as helpful as you would think, and seems to slow you down on straights especially on phantom - try it and see, you'll pass the other racers much quicker with it off trust me, plus you can corner tighter as pilot assist obviously tries to keep you as far away from the edges as possible!

On this track, I was sad if I hadn't cleared the pack by the end of the first lap will try assist tonight. I always assumed it was for n00bs anyway

Yeah, reading around it seems to cap your power at 90% when it's active which will slow you down tons if you stray near the walls. I'm getting alright at this track now, though, and I'm not hitting the walls. Much. I can't seem to be consistent for five laps, there'll always be one little clip of the wall or something that feels like it kills my speed.

Are the leaderboards totally broken? It's not uploading any of my times. They're all registering locally but for some reason, nothing is appearing on the global leaderboards.

BOOM! 2.09.34. I sat for about an hour there, over and over again screwing up on the last lap when I was deffo on a 2.08 kinda run. As long as I come 2nd with that unless someone else goes for a last minute smash n grab too?

2.09.03 with Assegai. If anyone posts a last minute time to beat that I will DQ you. It's my competition so we'll play by my rules!!!

The battery on my controller ran out there when I went back for a second attempt so had to use the almost virgin SixAxis instead of DS3. The sticks and triggers are so firm compared to the more used controller so it was really difficult to do it.
