Seems to me it's all about the the twin blue sprays at the end, just got to work out exactly where the sweet spot is and learn to track it accurately.

I find the best spot is to sit right on top of the red guy and whack left-right-left as fast as I can. It seems the faster I do that the faster I level-up.

However, with a near 1,400 buzz score it'd probably be better if you didn't listen to me.

the best pattern imo is to do a semi circle or figure 8 motion just infront of the mech, in time with the shots as they are released from it

btw, what are people getting before the mech appears on the screen, i'm looking around 400buzz after the first few waves before it appears.... god knows where that extra couple of hundred buzz come from for the 1600 total that can be done for the level

When I get bored I like to try new things and tend to:
* Buzz the enemy ships as they come on screen then retreat back for their fire.
* Attempt to buzz every bullet twice just for fun, you never know might turn out to be a worth while tactic or not.

Althought I usually end up with a lower score when trying this ;D

Yeah, about 400 buzz I think, I normally manage a high level 16 or low level 17 by then depending on destruction rate (60-65ish%) which seems to tie in to that website's screen grabs if I tightened up my DR.

I'm only at level 12 by the time Mr. Red Mech appears.

I'm making a vid tomorrow so I need someone to point out where I'm going wrong. I'm doing everything to the best of my ability.

(This run was funny, started the next level all lives intact something like level 98, and then lost concentration and lost them all in a few secs! )
