Advice on setting up Xbox Live

Definitely the best route. It shouldn't cost you more than ?30, unless you need to buy a network card for your PC, which only costs around another ?10

I just thought I'd say thanks for everyone's help and advice with my Live queries in this thread and another.

I finally set up Live at the weekend using a two month trial card and direct connection.

We still have 300k, but so far it's performing really well as long as I don't host big games. There is talk that NTL are increasing their bandwidths in the first quarter of this year, so I'm going to see what happens with that before I upgrade.

The wired router, ethernet card and patch cable are on their way, so I can set up the PC and Xbox without the need to take the modem from my sister's room for Live.

I can now make full use of Live enabled games, but I have a lot of catching up to do.
