Easily solo'd Mission 3-1 in Beadeaux last night - just had to dispach 20 Copper Quadav. All the mobs on the opening ground level were Too Weak so it was just a case of trying too avoid linking. I was a bit worried about the high level Quadav on the second level but didn't get any agro even though they were kind of close...

Tonight it's 3-2 in Gusgen Mines then back to Garlaige Citadel to get a buffer on my 270 exp into level 34...

Thursday looks to be my first opportunity to try for some RSE gear. Hume M is in Shakhrami Maze from 6.50pm so a 9pm ish starting time would be good for me. If Rare or anyone else can help me out with this I would be most grateful. Not sure if I can get 2 lots in one night but if so that will take care of my immediate requirement and make me very happy!

Something that did make me very happy last night was obtaining some Garrison Gloves. Have been after a pair of these for a few months but refused to pay the 95k-100k in Jeuno. When I logged on with my mule in Windurst I checked AH and they had 1 pair and the previous (5 only) ones had all gone for 40k. My mule didn't have the gil so after a mad switch back to talizker and a quick send of some funds I buy the Gloves for 40k

I'm starting to piece things together in my mind, and this RSE everyone refers to - that's the gobbie tailor quest isn't it? I've been on the hunt for keys/chest myself for a long time, apparently not knowing that I was taking part in one of the popular acronyms :-)

I only have one question - do the keys only drop when there is a chest around or do they drop at any time?

Yes, it is the gobbie tailor quest. You can get a key at any time but you only get the pattern if you open the chest when it is your race / genders time slot. Fancy coming along on Thursday?

I could do that, even if only one key/chest is found it's good intelligence gathering for my next attempt, lol. Shakhrami is the only location I've not spent much time investigating... although I've got a rendezvous with a nasty monster in there, which I'll probably attempt tonight or tomorrow.

Talizker when do you plan to be on between now and Thursday? I presume you are after the legs and feet pieces seeing as though you mentioned you want 2.

Easiest way to do it is set your homepoint in Jeuno, get the first key in advance (tomorrow?) and log out in Maze of Shakrami. Log back in on Thursday and pop open your first chest. Warp to Jeuno hand in the pattern, then Teleport-Mea and go back into the Maze of Shakrami, get a second key and try for second chest.

During RSE times, the treasure chests in the dungeon respawn quickly (every 5 minutes I think).

Good thing about Maze of Shakrami is its easy to get to key dropping monsters. You can enter via the ?hidden? entrance in Buburimu Peninsula and almost everything in that section drops the key.

I can definitely help with getting a key for you though. Like I said, we have the Shadow Lord battle tonight from 8pm so I?m uncertain if I have the time to help tonight unfortunately (although if we finish early enough I can definitely help). Tommorrow and Thursday I have no plans so if you let me know when you plan to be on, I will make sure I?m free.

Hmmm, oh well there goes my need for investigating! It's been a long time since I went in the backdoor at Shakhrami but last time I did I suffered instant death at the hands (sticky pods?) of some kind of super crawler. I was probably in my early 20s at the time mind you.

Will be on tonight from 9pm ish doing 3-2 but hopefully that won't take too long. After that I want to get a few hundred more exp which I may well just do on some Easy Pray mobs. After that I think I will head out to the maze and check out the mob levels / layout etc. Tomorrow I will be on after the football on TV (10pm ish) so that would be an ideal time to try for the key. Like Darwock, i've not spent much time in the maze so am a little unsure on mob level / proximity etc...

hehe you have no idea mate. Spent the whole day at work looking at the clock repeatedly seeing how long it is until we do this. I truly believe this is a milestone for RARGH! and puts everything else we've done in the shade.

Speaking of Great Sword, sadly when I finished with my WAR last night I was 1 level short of my next weapon skill (Frostbite or Freezebite, I get them mixed up). For some reason I just couldn?t get the last few skill points to tick me up to 100. A new skill would have been nice to round of my WAR career for the time being.

Talizker I popped in to Shakhrami through the back door, first mobs I found were easy prey, with some DC goblins running around. Second easy prey bat I fought with full strength put me down like a dog.

Congratulations for all those getting Rank 6 last night!

Last night for me was particulaly good. I easily did Mission 3-2 and am now set up for 3-3 in Jeuno and hopefully that Rank 4 is not too far away. After the Gusgen Mines it was off to the Maze of Shakhrami to do a bit of recon for the Key/RSE stuff on Thursday. After figuring out the layout and mob levels I solo'd some DC stuff before joing Darwock in a party. There was a lot of high-level people running arround and annoyingly kept clearing the large rooms of mobs as we were trying to pull stuff. Still, we found enough mobs for us both to get a key so hopefully Thursday will be RSE day Also had my first fight against a Scorpion - dead easy with the two of us but a cool, scarry looking mob to be sure!

One thing that is a bit concerning is that if all these people are there on Thursday - will they be major competiton opening chests? As far as I understand they respawn quickly if an pattern hunter opens them but more slowly if it's some random high-level bod...?

Well you don't need to worry about competing with me at least, I'm not in any great rush to get the pattern so if we find a chest you can open it first. Ditto if you plan on going for a second key the same night. I would be satisfied with discovering some chest locations as I can always come back another time.

Absolutely incredible. After last night, every bit of scrimping and saving of gil, every idiot I?ve had to deal with and every death on the way felt completely worth it.

That feeling of trepidation as we crossed that bridge was so intense. I genuinely thought for a few seconds maybe we should leave it, but I think there was a real adrenaline boost that kicked in.

The battle was everything I hoped it would be. Required full concentration on our although it was disappointing to have mine and Tobal?s Fusion SC hit for 0 >.<

Over all a good job from everyone and I felt honoured to be involved.

Excellent job with the video as well Wedge. Watched it this morning and it felt just as exciting to watch as being there. I really like the BGM for the battle.

Still amuses me to think about that other PT that allianced with us on Sunday were about to try and do the Shadow Lord. Considering their level at the time, and their inability to even communicate with each well to even travel very far into Castle Zvahl, they would have had no chance with the battle itself.

I guess it Bcnm time now, we should start making arrangement for which bcnm to do, i have about 6 listed worth doing, 3 normal differculty, 3 hard, 5 are 6 man and 1 3 man. I think the only im most interested in is Orc fight one and the one which drops the spectacles (though it's a rare drop from the fight its worth millions)

I may also use a Sam/thf job instead, so lvl my thf to 30 has to done
