I don't think I should write a bio in 3rd person, it would be like "notoriously difficult to get along with and tends to isolate himself so as to avoid hearing anything about the world, Darwock reacts violently to suggestions of any kind" Hmmm, actually maybe that's the one.

Since its a role playing game, I'd say the most natural style for the bios will be the role play style as used on Hicory and Chakmool's profile. It happens to be my preference, too, which is why I've used it for my two characters, and I think the best results for the site would be achieved using a consistent style for most character profiles. That said, I acknowledge that my own personal preference isn't necessarily going to be shared by everyone, so its really down to the individual. I'd rather people sent a bio they were comfortable with that didn't conform to "the standard" than not sending anything at all, with the possible exception of extreme obscenities!!

Tsing's was fairly random, but perhaps that fits his personal style

If you would like to post a profile but would prefer to see what other people write for their bios before posting yours, you could always send in the details with a blank profile and send an amendment at a later stage.

One last thing - I've realized today that I haven't included any section for character specific links on the profile page. I know several people have journals or photo galleries for their character. If you do have one of those, please do include it on your "mail to the moogle" and I will amend the site this evening to include character links on the templates and profile submission page.

Well thats 3 NMs down and 1 to go after a near flawless run last night. Quick thanks to everyone and we'll get set up for Ifrits Cauldron next week. We'll look at the best night but either Wednesday or Thursday seems best to me right now.

After that ZM6 waits for over Christmas if we have the spare time. We'll have to see when everyone can get on to take on the BC...

I hope the deaths didn't sting you guys too much, nothing ever goes 100% smooth I guess. The weapons seemed to be the biggest pain in the arse, even fighting them one at a time they seemed to be pretty resilient. They resisted an astral flow down to 700 damage or similar...

Planned for a few (deaths) and got a 4k buffer into Lv61 before the start. When I got to Tsing there was only the one Raptor close by so was confident we could take him then move. Unfortunately due to their high movement radius we were joined by 2 others at which point we stood no chance. In hindsight a ES+Sleep II then both move for the Monument would have been the best choice... Also was a little too slow with the Cure on Kerushi when tackling the Weapons. Problem is when using menus you can't see the health of poeple in the other party and by the time I had cast refresh there was not enough time to save him - sorry dude ><

I thoroughly enjoyed last night, at every point we were bang on the predicted time line for doing each part of the mission. I've never seen us leave on time before I don't think was a great effort from all concerned to be there on time and ready to go.

I'm looking forward to seeing sky early in the New Year, been a good effort so far if we just hang together I think we'll be home and dry soon.

Fights against some of this game?s tougher notorious monsters are easily the most fun moments I have in this game. Last week was Bugbear Matman and this time was Sewer Syrup.

Started the weekend with my alchemy at 20 and decided to skill next off Sairui-ran (ninjutsu tools for blind). However these required a cooking subcraft so I worked on that first off. It was cheap (but did involve a loss) and I found it incredibly dull. I don?t know I am enjoying skilling Alchemy and not Cooking when the process is identical but I just found it a chore (probably because I felt like I HAD to skill it rather than I wanted to). Going from Rabbit Broth > Grilled Hare > Orange Juice I was able to get it to level 9 before the tedium got to much.

After that it was some quick trawling around the vendors to buy the ingredients for synths (8 stacks worth of ninja tools worth) and got to work. Even with the breaks I managed to synth over 5 stacks and made profit. I found that if I buy a 100gil flower and get each stack bundled I could make at least 3k extra per stack. Only managed to skill Alchemy up to 21 but this rate should improve as I get a bit higher (I also skilled Cooking to 10 on the same synths).

Then yesterday was the NMs. First was the darkstalker in Fei?yin for WHM AF which went well then a few of us went down for Sewer Syrup. Took about 2 hours to pop and I think we did kind of underestimate it (especially as initially we were talking about going down without a healer until luckily Talizker came on). Started off the fight with both Tsing and Tobal using their 2 hours (I presume expecting the fight to not last long) but by the time they were used up it had at least 75% of it?s health remaining. We had 2 PLD but as the MP levels started to get low and HP started going into the orange I put on a few bits of enmity gear and tried to hold it for a while with Utsusemi. Wasn?t too bad (apart from Fluid Spread AOE) and I felt like we had a handle of things with Talizker and Tsing resting so they could have full MP to dedicate to healing. However, a combination of being sleepy and complacent led to my downfall.

I was at around 400HP and noticed the syrup wasn?t missing my shadows so recast Blind but no effect so it was still in place. I then redid paralyze but mid-cast it removed my last shadow (with Ni timer not ready) which was immediately followed up with another TP attack taking me to about 80HP. I tried to recast Utsusemi: Ichi hoping for a lucky evade or parry but was not to be. Took the hit and down I went. Luckily the MP levels had been recovered to a good extent (and Convert timer was up) and Tsing and Bevan both were able to resume tanking and finished it off.

Death doesn?t bother as it felt great to be in such a tough battle but I?m disappointed in myself for my mistakes and I keep thinking what I could have done different (why didn?t I at least pop Defender and cancel Berserk? :/ ) I do feel a good part of this is due to getting tired as I definitely find it harder to concentrate as the night gets later which is something I need to sort.

I was due to go on Bayan?s Dynamis run on Saturday midnight but again bottled out at the last second. I think I?m concerned partly because I don?t have a clue what I am supposed to do in there (will be speaking to Bayan about this) and also because I know that I will probably be going until about 3am which means my chances of ****ing it up are high.

I had my first xp party in several months, and my god what a mind-crushingly dull experience it was. Made about 4K experience which has barely dented my tnl.. but should keep me at 60 for the dangerous stuff coming up (not least of which is the limit break). Our red mage was wearing his santa suit for the duration.. does that have hidden effects or was he just putting festive cheer before safety?

                        Comment

I beleive the Santa Suit has some not so hidden effect mostly that you're missing the buffs from the armour he should be wearing. Its unfortunate you still get some total gibbons at this level. Thank the lord for the empress band is all I can say, it really does help.

I think the good news is though it seems to be a 50-50 rol as to how good / bad your party is. I've ha some ace ones of late but had a real duffer thrown in the other night that I walked out of after the puller got me killed.

I now have my map for ZM5 this week and know my way to where we're heading. It doesn't look as bad as I feared but I would recommend bringing 2 full stacks of oils and powders to stay safe and keeping reraise up throughout as raising someone up there would be tough.

Going to suggest Wednesday night with a 20:00 start for the last headstone, what do people think?
