According to a translated article from Famitsu BLU have an A- rank in Sword skill aking them highly likely to be used in front line battles along with their magic.

I reckon BLU will be able to use all Scimitar type weapons so any potential BLU should go hunting Cargo Crab Colin and grab a Nadrs if you can. It may become quite popular

360 Transfer Blues

Well... after nearly a month of leading Duke of Edinburgh kids out on expeditions it seems like I've actually missed the transfer period and server selection for Larcen (my level 18 warrior) :-( Serves me right for taking three weeks off from the beta test I guess -weeps-

I take it the NTSC chaps play on Seraph?
That being the case, is there ANY way I can get my guy out from the random server he's now going to be assigned to (and over to you guys) without losing levels or items?

G@D I hope so, to start from scratch will be a hard lesson learned for sure.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Best bet would be to contact S-E support, maybe use the online function on the Playonline site where you can talk to them online, thats what I did when I got my character back from being deleted.

I think you have a better chance talking to them direct than emailing them and getting some automated response.

Also are you totally sure the transfer period has ended?

Well, tonight was some night.

Things started with a trip to the Boyahda Tree for some exp/farming spider webs, after about an hour and a half I left with 10 Spider Webs, a stack of Earth Crystals, 4KS 2BS and 3.5k roughly exp.

Not a bad start.

Then onto the Rutter Sabaton NM, Tsing, [Theanu, Truehero] Tox, Tsing, Rabs, Tobal, Kasha and me, took me ages to get there as I didnt have goblin warp access.

First fight I didn't see as I was lost but it was a win but no drop >_< Tsing then got me through the gate and to the camp.

Second fight, almost full wipe in the first 30 seconds, I think just me, True and Tsing still standing, with about 46HP I hit 2Hour and slept the NM about 20 times, using CHR Etudes to increase chances of sleeping (at one point +105 CHR O_O) eventually got everyone up and won the fight, got the drop too.

Third fight went quite smooth, no real probs and got the drop again.

This left a spare Air Tank so Tali came and bought it from me for 200k and we did the NM for him, I got to be honest I thought it was unlikely to drop again but as we were all there it was worth the try.

Ended up 4/4 Wins, 3/4 Rutter Sabaton drops, so we now have I think completed everyone on this, me, Moot, Tsing, Tal all have it now, I dont think anyone else expressed an interest in them.

Good job to everyone on this, great run.


Now onto another subject:

I invited a friend onto the LS only to have him leave, dropping the pearl about 20 minutes later after seeing alot of unfair things being said, im not pleased about this, I can understand some of you had a problem with the other player I was going to bring in, which I did hold back on giving a pearl as I wanted the LS to give the yes,no.

Im not exactly sure what the problems were with this, but I know the way some members on the LS reacted is not exactly the best way to go about things.

I dont think we did ourselves any favours and if I had entered a new LS with that kind of reaction I too would throw the pearl without hesitation.

To be honest I feel like an idiot for asking someone to join and having that happen.

I concur with Wedge the reaction was unacceptable, we're all adults and I would have expected more from the LS. This is the first time I've ever had to apologise for the behaviour of the LS to someone else and I'm gutted to have had to do so.

I've heard 2 sides to the story both which end in the same way but the catalysts stated are very different. From what I know we have lost the chance to add a good BST to the LS as well as damaging our reputation. I hope that this is the first last and only time this happens.

On another note I'm currently seeking opinions on what we beleive are acceptable actions for LS members with other LS members. This has never been an issue in the past and I'm sorry to have to raise it, but I'd like our policy to be clear. At all times in the past we have worked together to help each other progress and strengthen the LS.

For the first time I have ever seen this was broken when one LS member using informatiomn freely shared in the LS chat chose to attempt to camp against another member having gleened an NM spawn was likely soon. I find this to be unacceptable what I want to know is what the other LS members think. What I propose is that if this is repeated by any LS member against another LS member outside HNMS etc this will initally be warned, if the member continues to camp they will be reomved from the shell. What says Rargh, again gutted to have to even raise this, I thought we were a better LS than this.

Well, I wasn't logged in the game tonight so I don't know the story behind what it was that got the guy to leave the LS, but I'm in agreement. Not cool

All I know is that a number of LS members during late last week/early this week have been acting rather against character. I get the impression I'm being ignored on purpose by a few members, much moreso than usual, who are probably tired of me talking - I do apologise in advance if trying to make the LS seem like a more lively place isn't to everyone's tastes. Getting back to the matter of LS ettiquette, I consider it bad form that when I'm partaking in a battle that a number of members have already cleared previously, my pleas for advice either go unheard or in 1 case, I get told to look the information up mid battle, or possibly even worse I get told, most likely on purpose, false information.

Whats a good combo of players? Shes thinking magic character so should i go fighter or support?

Im also pissed that the 360 players get the full game and all expansions for 29.99 whereas any new pc players need to buy both the first set of expansions and original game and then just the expansion on its own !!

Well, after you both reach level 10 (done solo or duo) probably 80% of the time you will need to be in parties of 6 so from this point of view the job combination of the two of you doesn't really become that critical. There is still much you guys can do together however and in these cases a combo such Tank Class to hold mob hate and a Support Class to heal / buff / enfeeble work extremely well. I know from doing some stuff with Tsing that him a PLD and me as RDM works an absolute treat.

Also, don't forget that all the jobs are available to you so the best advice is to start off as something you like the sound of, you can and probably will change at some point once you start understanding the role of each job in group situations.

As far as the PC game. I'm fairly sure you can pick the original release of FFXI up for arround ?10 and with the expansion at ?15 online, its all fairly similar to the XB360 one. Plus, if the XB360 one doesn't improve some since the beta, the PC version imho is the one to have.

I'd been in Jeuno trying to get an Airtank when Tsing sent me a /tell saying that there was now a spare one in the party. I really apprecite all the LS folks and Tox / True for hanging fire for 15 mins to allow me to get there. Like Wedge said, at 2/3 I was not overly confident about the drop, especially given last weeks results so to get another made me super-happy. Thanks all (^_^)!

I'll head over to S-E support right away! Thanks for the advice, I only hope it isn't too late. The transfer period ended about a week ago, just two days before I logged back in to see what the state of play was :-( I'll let you know what happens. I may only have got to level 18 but the time I put in, for me, was ample - I'd hate for it to be for nothing.

Ouryu proved to be a bit of a bastard.

Heard stories of it being a bit of a bastard, especially for NIN tanking and have to say I agree. Seemed to attack quite fast and I think I even saw a Triple Attack or 2 in there as well.

Earth based monster which meant his VIT seemed really high topped off with Stoneskin and even Invincible at one point.

Unfortunately our battle plan involved the use of Astral Flow so we only had one chance to get it right. We had me tanking to start with and I was quietly confident when my Blind and Paralyze landed immediately (Slow was obviously resisted with it being Earth based). Then when Ouryu took off, we planned to have Garuda use Astral Flow to get hate then I took over when he landed again. We had Mistmelts but were more for emergency as Garuda took little damage off Ouryu in the air. Things went well until it started flying for a second time as Astral Flow missed (moved out of range) and I got hit with something which killed me from about 75% HP. After that hate was moving all over the place so more Astral Flows missed and we wiped. Apparently we got it down to 50-55% HP before we died.

Overall people seemed confident our setup could beat it so hopefully we will be trying again soon. I know I had some concerns about taking 2 SMN in the battle would make it too easy but I think those fears are unfounded. We still have a lot of work to do for a win so I feel motivated to try again.

Interesting cutscene beforehand however. A really moment.

What's happened with the LS then? Who was the new member that left, and why was there a bad reaction from the LS? My pearl went back into storage a few days ago so at least I can safely say I played no part in this one...

Also Daragon, please sort out your debts to other LS members before you start claiming nobody is fair to you. It might be a small amount but I guarantee it's not going to be forgotten.
