Ok done a but more looking this morning and found 2 things:

    1) The airtank drops from hobgoblin blaggers in Bibiki bay, these are xp mobs to me so drop rates should be that hard but we'd need a farming party. Given the prive if we can find them we'd be more effective farming other things.

    2) My Newton Movalpolis map in the coffer right in the middle of the zone, very nerve wracking had no silent oil so had t hope bats didn't agro. So I cross my figners I ready my warp cudgel and creep past the nightmare bats, no agro woot! I check everwhere I can reach and fibnd the coffer but I need to reach it via last nights camp. SO back I go and fight purgatory bats there, bugger I think am I going to be lucky twice and start to creep round agian, bingo no agro. Home free I think and in the last tunnel to reach the coffer find a thrid type of bat Sucubus bats, now I'm convinced that my luck has run out but no no agro either. So I have a map and also now know that at least 3 types of bat in Newton are non agro.

Just been to look for airtanks none so far, I suggest we take 6 with us on this next run if we want 3 boots. If tobal is happy with how things went last time I'll also sub THF and come set for DD as basically I did next to no tanking as the Galkan Powerhouse tore into it.

Ah one mnore thing I just thought of with getting the Newton map I think I'm now down to just needing:

    1) Den of Rancor Map
    2) Any of the maps for sky (not sure how many or where they coem from)
    3) Sacrarium (can't access yet)
    4) Sea (as above)

With this in mind anyone interested in Sky or Den maps?

Tonight I need to get an exp buffer on my samurai, lost about 2k last night putting me just above 500exp into 75 ><; it the first time since I hit 75 had I?ve deleveled when K.O?d. I think I enjoyed the first the most, with everyone but Elite and I dead, we managed to get to 1% Hp from 50%, and then re-raise for the last hit ^^; though I?am annoyed Moot didn?t bring a re-raise himself or stick around to help tsing and wedge which has been a trend recently.

I understand Moots situation he can only play till a certain time and I think I'm at least happy with that. We all have constraints on what we can and can't do, I'm sure its as frustrating for him as anyone as when time has allowed he's been there.

The bigger anoyance for me right now is the lack of airtanks for sale, not a single one I can find ><

Ah, I keep forgetting some of the group are younglings, most of us are 24-35 (I think)

I am assuming I'd have been useless in movalpolos, so sorry for my absence, if you do need me there just say the word.. I just think I'd have been doing nothing more than trying to dodge aggro and avoid the AoE.

Had another xp party, made a tad more interesting by the appearance of a torama NM named Ose right next to the camp.. there were two parties there fighting back to back so we agreed to form an alliance and take it on. Was quite exciting, I dunno what it is about spontaneous alliances but they never seem to work effectively... I'm not sure what the tanks were doing but it certainly wasn't tanking! Still nobody died, and we got the drop which went to someone in the other party.

Then back in Jeuno it was time for more spending! Another benefit from my time in the grotto was I'd collect the utsusemi:ichi scroll, so I cashed in and at long last finally got my light spirit. Then rather than save for something boring I indulged myself and got the avatar belt and a light staff.. so this means I can now have carbuncle keep me company at all times when I'm on BLM ^^

Last night for me was a bit of a disaster with the whole chip farming situation. The first group I visited Pso'xja with turned out to have 0 clue which mob we needed to kill, despite having read a perhaps useless walkthrough on AK. We must have spent 30 minutes in the one tower, killing the wrong lizards and me sealing myself inside a small room getting fisted by two golem/doll things

When we eventually left the tower to enter the next, our useless tank (lvl 50) who has the ****ing nerve to call me a noob blm, goes and "accidentally" falls down a small hole right on top of a DC (to me) thousand eyes. Obviously he goes down in two hits, but unfortunately the whm with us was a friend of his, so she goes down to help him, followed by the thf, followed by me XD - cue death #2.

It was by this point Meric and Saerik joined us, so this time we were at the RIGHT tower, killing the RIGHT mobs, except it was down here that things took a turn for the worse... Our whm had now taken off, we'd killed a few diremites and our first chip dropped - I was beaten to the lot by 2 whole points so had to wait for the next drop, although prior to the next drop, one of our two thieves had somehow aggroed a bat at the same time as another diremite. What with being the only mage, it fell to me to sleep it.
                        Unfortunately, while the spell stuck it didn't stay asleep for long, and retained its vendetta against me, and with Meric subbing rdm with nin, there wasn't anyone to voke it off me - having used my 2h previously I was in the **** and died for the 3rd time, with no raise 3 to save my precious exp The screwing didn't end there however, while I was dead, my inventory filled up with useless crap, so by the time the 2nd chip dropped, there was no room for it in my inventory ; ;

Determined not to let 3 deaths and a lost chip get the better of me, I blagged a teleport xvahl to try again, this time with Mosley's help. Back to the northern tower, we camped in the same spot I died previously and tore into the mobs. Sadly, this time my 4th death was completely down to me. I what I thought was a lone snow lizard down a hole below us so I pulled it with frost - the sad part is that two managed to "fly" towards us, defying logic and gravity.

After my 4th and final death of the evening, Mosley generously allowed me use of his reraise hairpin, what with being the accident prone guy that I am to avoid me losing my level incase I died again. After the odd hour of farming, I was still chipless and it was late so Mosley took off as I got invited to join a group next to us also farming the chips, thankfully this one had a thief in it, and perhaps down to more than sheer luck than chance, our first 2 mobs both dropped the chips, one of which went to me ^_^

I think 4 deaths in one evening is some kind of record for me, at least I walked away from the whole thing learning some valuable lessons.

#1 never touch anything if you don't know what it does

#2 If some guy falls down a hole and dies, tractor first THEN raise.

#3 if you get too much aggro and your tanks can't tank, cast escape not sleep.

And finally #4 Don't pull if you can't see, and don't pull with frost @_@

OMG Dara - thats a horrible storty ><

Can I offer my valuable lesson for getting a chip, even if it isn't relivent now...

                          a. Go to the right place on your own and get the chip without death...

Seriously dude, We all did this: no relying on other people in dodgy farming parties, no dangerous locations, no competition for lotting...

                          Comment

I don't think tractor works on bodies on a different level.. small drops are ok but when I had to tractor someone in ifrit's cauldron once (due to him dropping off a cliff) it wouldn't work.

I've just had a level 75 black mage ask the group what Ramuh is weak to! I was like "tell me you're kidding" and he said "I'm not good at that stuff, just figuring it out now - this is the only job I've got at 75"

                            Best explanation ever!

That really is a carnival of errors, all I can say is this-

Never go anywhere without first understanding:

                              1) Where you're going
                              2) What mobs your fighting and at what level
                              3) What other mobs are in the zone and what danger they present

The alla walk thorugh is crystal clear I'm not sure how you can go wrong with about 30 seconds of reading.

(Rare/Ex) Carmine Chip - Snow Lizard or Frost Lizard [Etoh: I got my chip from this, at a no-level-cap
Pso'Xja from Beaucidine Tower (F-7) where Nue spawns. They drop pretty easily...gotten all 6 for my PT in 2 hours. Decent Challenge to LV75]

(Rare/Ex)Gray Chip - Diremite Stalkers (at Tower near Ranguemont), Diremite Assaulters, Diremite

(Rare/Ex) Cyan Chip - Treasure Chest Mimics
Thats the 4th sentence in the mission walk through, its what we all used. The mob guide then shows diremites are lowest and most easily accessed.

Really in future research it prevents wasting hours.

Fine, its done - in the past, forgotton about. And now its swept under the carpet. In fairness, the whm knew which mobs we wanted and which towers they were in - we just didn't know where abouts they were.

In fairness, this is all very easy, unless you don't know what you're doing - I trusted what the whitemage said, she had read the walkthrough and for some reason couldn't lead us to the right mobs. You could argue that I should have read it myself, but by the time I got fed up, we had help coming.
