Final Fantasy XI Then...

Slightly off topic but would any Rargh 360 owners be up for some PGR3, PDZ tonight.

As far as can tell Me, Talizker, Tobal, Rare and Daragon have the console, if im missing anyone let me know.

It could be a blast.

Yeah, i'm up for a bit of 360 action to suppliment the NM camping. PGR3 for sure, my PDZ skills are shall we say, a little lacking ^^ but I don't mind being Cannon Fodder, at least for a while...

Should be 8.30pm or earlier as wife is out tonight. Just need to grab some tea when the kids are in bed. Looks like the FFXI Beta Mag is available today so we can maybe try that as well. Level 1 race to Jeuno or something ^^

Hehe, I?m not taking any chances. I?ve taken some of my time owing so I can finish work slightly early to enable me to race to WH Smiths in town on the way home. I have a feeling this thing will set out fast. XB360 ? bringing me games I?ve been playing for 2 ? years on a bigger screen. The Future of Entertainment is Here!

Anyway fingers crossed the folks?ll let me on the TV for 8:30pm. If I am on 360 I?ll likely be on PDZ or Geometry Wars so just send us an invite via the dashboard when it?s all kicking off.

A fine few games of PDZ tonight lads - should make this a regular thing.

Quite impressed by your skills Rare considering you've not spent much time on the multiplayer mode, you even won (most of) the matches. True to word however Tali, you were bullet/grenade fodder for the most part but I'd imagine you'll get better over time.

As for me coming in last place for that one fight I think it was what was up with that at all? Must be spending too much time on FFXI . My somewhat aggressive style of gaming seems to have a hole or 2 in it - does help me to focus tho.

Shame about my lack of PGR3, might spend a bit of time with the demo to get used to it and then maybe trade Condemned for it when I've beaten that (If I ever do - some parts of that game really do get the old heart jumping.)

Thanks Actually I have always been a bit on the poop side at FPS on consoles - just down to the controls I guess having been bought up with mouse/keyboard on the PC.


As far as FFXI on the 360, I only had 10 mins mucking around in Bastok and South Gustaberg but it looks much like the PC version (ie. a conversion of a 3 year old PS2 game) and as such is unlikely to impress the 360 fans who's other games all look rather spiffy. To be honest, both the look and frame rate are probably slightly worse looking than on my PC - I do play both on my 26" LCD.

Interestingly there were 400 odd people on the server with levels up to mid 30's, Rank 4 and advanced jobs such as BRD and NIN being used.

Will certainly play this some more in the coming days/weeks and see how it goes.

Should look and play better than on my PC hopefully - I need to rely on the unsupported background resolutions for it to look nice and jag free - unfortunately this can lead to glitches of its own at times. If the improvement is minimal to non existant however, then I won't bother with the retail version and just upgrade my graphics card when I'm done with uni and can get myself a nice job without having the stress of looming 6000 word essays or tight deadlines to meet that I can't handle.

Definately enjoyed last night. The weirdest thing was speaking with Wedge, Tal and Daragon after all this time.

I think Tal underestimated his skillls to be honest. I think he gave a good accounting of himself and I know he picked me off a fair number of times (mostly by sneaking up behind me and blamming me in the head as I was trying to kill someone else

Overall the matches were all incredibly close. Not one of us ran away with things. Things can only be better when a few more RARGH! members join us.

However, I think my PGR3 skills leaved a lot to be desired.

Anyway, Sanctuary of Zitah tonight for anyone who is interested.

Totally missed it ><, I can?t see message between 360 dashboard and xbox game. Was playing halo2 for couple hours until the opponents got to hard, cos my friend is rank 25+ the other friend in the party and myself where rank 9?ers and don?t play it much kept getting our asses handed to us by 24+?s and it wasn?t fun.

If there another PDZ fight tonight I?ll be on, I love doing the old weapon steal! Before Halo2 last night I was in a territorial match, with the superdragon as the main weapon, lots of grenades ><?s. I learnt it far easier when fighting a grenade spammer to unequip and run up steal his weapon.

This is going way Off Topic so I apologise to the non-360ers, but I did find our matches last night did degenerate slightly when we found the Grenade secondary fire mode.

I will definitely be up for another set of matches tonight if other people are. Obviously I have Sanctuary of Zitah to do first and I know football is on again too but I should be able to be around for 10pm. More people is always better (as long as they aren?t sweary Americans).

I had the idea of treating myself to an elemental torque today after only just saving up the 2m gil that I thought would be sufficient to buy it with. How VERY wrong was I?

To the tune of an additional 6 million over the space of about 2/3 days its lept from an already insulting 3m to an absolute piss take of 8m!!!!

I don't care if it gimps me by not owning it, it'll be a cold day in hell before I spend that much on +7 elemental magic.
