Final Fantasy XI Then...

Razz your playtime on this is astounding, but the last couple of weeks have shown how such a thing is possible. I have played nothing else to any major degree as the affinity I have with Ninja Master to be, Rarehero, is strong.

Currently at level 24 with Ninja at the moment, and really starting to feel the cash strain that this job puts onto players. The constant need for stacks of Shihei (plusm other tools) along with the requisite armour and weapon upgrades, means money is never as free flowing as it could be. I have to admit that the only reason I took this role was because Dual-Wielding weapons looks cool but I wonder if I'd have taken the decision if I'd have known about the expense.

However, I've found that Ninja job has instilled a good deal of discipline and attention to how I play my character. When I levelled THF I was much less careful in how I went about things. Equip was often out of date and I subbed BLM which is close to useless in a THF/BLM combination. However, since my new job that has all changed. I spent a whole weekend building up my Tenshodo Fame just to be able to quest for the Utsusemi: Ichi scroll which meant several trips back and to to the major towns to find the best prices on Zinc Ore I could (as well as hitting good farming spots) and this last week I have spent farming in order to be able to afford my new Armour upgrades (going for the level 25 Federation gear which whilst expensive should see me through for a good 8-10 levels at least).

Well, me and Marvelon are doing well with our new characters, now that we can both play all the time together the levels have really been flying by!

But in case anyone has not yet seen it, we are changing LS because the one we have now is held by Akasha (who I am never going to use again). So I am handing out new Linkpearls now, and everyone needs to switch to the new LS on Sunday, so please try and get a new Pearl from Mahlory before then. Once everyone has a new pearl I can delete Akasha.
I will be creating pearlsack holders again as usual to widen the range of the pearls..

Another solid weekend for the NBK's. We reached lv 18 (with our subs) So Mahlory is back to WHM and I'm full steaming ahead as MNK. We only hit 18 with our mains last weekend.. so that 18 levels in a week

(EditMe and Mahlory have now completed 3 missions and No. 4, as you San-citizens know, involves collecting someone from Davoi. I hope we can count on your help at some point in the near future? Also, we should be able to take part in a San D-Eco warrior quest next weekend.

Switchover to the new LS (Rargh!) was rather succesful we thought (hope everyones happy with the new colour).

And lastly. You'll remember the utter wanker I was talking about on saturday evening called Malachai. I actually attempted to have a proper conversation with him last night but it's impossible. He's a Troll basically and I hope someone takes the trouble to record him saying he sells gil online so he can be found in breach of the End user agreement and banned from the game completely. He deserves nothing less.

Marvelon, I'll help you and Mahlory with that mission, if I'm online when you decide to do it, as I'm up to that same one. One minor point though: I'm away this weekend until about 4pm on Sunday, so I won't be online then. Once I get back, however, chances are I'll go online straight away.

Regarding Malachai, I've been in a party with him a few times, and he seems to be a real show-off. He changed summon every single battle, and whenever he spoke, he bragged on about how high his job levels (apparently) were. It is impossible to have a conversation with him, I've got to agree with you there.

In fact I helped Tox with this on Saturday although I subsequently died as some moron trained a load of high level orcs to the zone which promptly kicked my ass whilst Tox ran to safety. I'm either heroic or stupid.

I'm actually confused tho. I thought Mission 4 was the training drill in Ordelle's Cave?

Tobal, is that Inviltrate Davoi? If so I'm up to that one as well and have no idea what to do (for quests and missions I generally refuse to check guides instead preferring to try and work stuff out).

I entered Davoi and got a cutscene but the orcs inside are far too poerful for me to solo. Perhaps a few of us (Tox should be up to that mission as well) could manage it?

Expidtionary Force would be cool. I've wante dto try one of those for the longest time.

However, how about we start with the easiest one (level 20 cap) rather than heading to 30. I have a load of lvl20 equip held back (in order to be able to do Eco Warrior regularly) so the level restriction shouldn't be a problem.

Me and Mahl weren't online much yesterday (we we're in Southampton to see Takeshi Kitano's new movie Zatoichi - kickass cool) we'll mostly be farming today and tomorrow because Mahl needs some equipment upgrades. I've been funding mine mostly with money from Sturn. But this weekend we'll go back to levelling again. We'll do the mission then.

Waiste: Purple Belt (STR +3 Haste +4%)

Me and Mahl won't be on much tonight and fridayevening. Playing D&D round her brothers tonight and going to a concert on friday.
We also have a bit of a dilemma. We're level 20 now (so it's choco license & qufim time for us) but we also need equipment upgrades
So.. we'll have to farm for a while to get some equipment upgrades and then we can head out to jeuno... so we won't be levelling much the next couple of sessions.

Well I've managed to farm meself about 50-60k and still need about 20k I reckon before all my basic equipment is sorted (head, body, hands, legs and feet), plus my new Dagger as my secondary weapon.

However, I think I'm going to continue levelling my WAR up to about 20 before I go back to Ninjaing and everything so last night got a new Claymore with Flame Additional Damage.
