I somehow ended up with a Dobson bandana last night despite my abysmal luck with lotting - I kew someone else originally won the one that I did as I noticed a message "Dobson Bandana lost" so I broke out the old WTF, thinking the bandana had gone to someone who already had it resulting in it being lost.

I really have no idea how I won it on a lot of 300...

Also, I am so glad that the area was 40 capped, I must have died about 4 times, no thanks to that stupid drake that aggroed ME out of 11 others who were also resting in the same area ><

Well the suggestion for now is, if the other just want to stick to their CoP Team(which seems likely as there's a Specialist, and ours is conventional and so incompatible) I suggested to wedge that we have him take up the WHM role for the 40cap?s and have Saerik with a multi-role DD job?s come. To this end depending on answers from the other team, I be donning my lvl37 War to help take wedge from 37 to 40.

The 6th member spot is open so if anyone from LS wants in, I think they will be welcome. I know last time Nyo got another WAR/nin friend to help out Moot with duo-tanking a mammet.

Our original plan for 2-5 was to have me fight a Mammet and Nyo kite the third but at the last minute Nyoneme got called away with real life stuff so had to find us a replacement which is why we ended up with 2 NIN. It isn't a part of our exact setup.

Oh, our plan is to run 3-5 on Wednesday evening.

The two BSTs that helped me want some gil out of it too however. How much should I give them?

Got myself a Sphene Ring (Vit+2) and Ram Mantle (DEF:5) at last. Now all I need is a Warriors Belt +1 and Holy Phial. Also need 2 earrings at 60k, not including Grudge Sword and new Shield (Heater Shield).

Also need to find cash to upgrade my armour from Eisen to Kampf still. I'm hoping full Kampf + Iron Musketeers Armet will last me until lvl.50.

Paladin is ultra expensive. I even have another character started to level to around 15 in order to raise gil (+craft skill) from scrappy drops + crystals.

Really enjoyed last night too

As far as this week goes. I would be happy to try for 3-5 if others are available. Probably the only night that won't be good is Wednesday although I will be available a little later in the evening- 10pm ish.

I will also be levelling White Mage from Lv31. I know i've mentioned a LS party before with some positive response but it has always been hard getting this sorted so will just say I am going from 31 - 40 in the next couple of weeks, if anyone wants to join up for a smoother ride then feel free!

Forget the +1 gear for the Armor and Belt, not worth the price. It would better if you took up the lvl40 San?doria Conquest gear(Royal Knights I think), better def > and +1/2 Vit in the lower end of the game, plus it?ll give +agi and +dex.

Its a truly debateable case as far as this game is concerned as to whether or not ANY HQ gear is worth the extra gil. Sure you have your Amemet mantle +1 and the like which has the extra +5s to all the bonuses, but if that doesn't require any additional materials over the normal mantle, then why is there a price difference of several million gil? Why is it that an item which you synth from another item which drops from an NM only costs 10k?

You also have things like the seers mitts +1 which *OMG* is an improvement of an amazing 1 mp over the standard synth yet there are idiots out there who spend the additional 100k+ on it.

To further argue the above point, I would say that Warrior's belt +1 is very much worth the gil over the normal synth, especially if you got it at an earlier level and its near enough essential for PLDs prior to 40.

the Amemet mantle NQ is a major loss making synth as i think it's major Skill up item for Clothcraft(leather?), so any +1 they do make they sell at a high price to make the money they lose for NQ's easier to swallow.

After hearing that Vana'diel Tribune was to be no more I decided to read through some of the articles as they have mostly passed me by.

Reading the interview with Shantotto in issue 1 (so going back over a year) she replied to a question regarding advice for any upcoming BLM. Her answer was:

Why are they sacking the Tribune? I can understand that not too many people would read it, but if it had been implemented into the game itself a little better and have it run through that rather than booting you back to POL it probably would be alot more successful

I'm unsure. I have only glanced at it in the past but I'm currently engrossed in issue 1 and it really does open your eyes to things in game. Lots of hints (some subtle, some not so). I guess the effort that goes into writing the articles (which are done very well from an 'Inside Vana'diel' perspective) is not worth the small amount of people who read them.

However I have noticed I seem to be reading Tribune II. Was there a Tribune I and where can I find them. It may also mean there is a Tribune III on the way.

Whaaa? No more tribune? I hope they find somewhere else to put the music then, it's the best track in the game!

The tribune for me was always the best source of information on the game without having to resort to the likes of allakazham/mystery tour etc... they gave you enough insight into events, challenges, crafting, gardening, furniture etc to keep things moving without ever breaking the illusion of being part of vana'diel. (apart from that interview with a tarutaru crafter who spoke exactly like BA Baracus)

Hmmm, interesting.

There's an article on Promyvion and the party in question are relying on purely ranged attacks (RNG and BLM) to kill the memory recepticles with any melee ensuring that the strays are dealt with. This way supposedly prevents that annoying AOE knock back attack.

How annoying that they nuked them all when they wen to Tribune II. What a waste

Thinking about it though, it seems that II ties in with the release of Chains of Promathia (i.e. Issue 1 having Promyvion feature). Maybe Tribune III will be related to Treasure of Aht Urghan. If so, I recommend people take a look over Tribune II before it is nuked into the netherealm
