Final Fantasy XI Then...

Oh yeah, another monumentally bad Lv3x party last night. I had logged on with the intention of doing a few quests but got an invite after a few seconds so figured I may as well give it a shot. An hour later the leader had left, one player kept DC'ing and we were struggling to kill the bats we had been easily taking care of at the weekend. So, 500exp for Tal and its time to make my excuses and go to bed... /sigh.

Which brings me back onto the subject of trying to sort out a static for LS folks who have a job in the 30's they want to level. There seems to be some interest but I really want to get something sorted.

With this in mind can you let me know if you want to be a part of this (and what job you want to use. I'm thinking maybe just 1-2 nights a week, but we should breeze through the 30's in no time.

If there is not enough interest I promise, I won't bring the subject up again...

Well made some thief progress yesterday, Qufim Island these days seems to be hell. Made it all the way to level 22 before it was time for bed. I can see soon that I'm going to take the plunge and stay up all night to get some serious xp. Actually had a good party last night, we'd just moved onto pugs and got the x flowing well when bed tme arrived

The good news is it's finally proved that not every party below 50 is a total rubbish, just most of them!

So a couple of questions, when are we doing 3-5?

3x static I could be interested, depends how long it take to get my thief up to you. What level are you at the moment?

Soon I'm also doing:
NIN (20 -> 40)
WHM (27 ->40)
RDM (10 -> 40)

Which I think gives me all the subs I could ever need for PLD, once those are done it will be PLD to 75 and some merits.

Ah and finally fainally, o-hat runs when are we going to do these, think Rare, Apa, Meric and I all have clusters and are ready to go!

And like Tal say Bayan my copies of ToAU are on order at Gamestop. Hope this means we'll see you agin soon mate, rest assured you've been missed.

These are the priority but not worried about what order I level them.

Well, I pretty much want to take all my jobs to 40(with a view of mage, tank and DD job past 60). I?m up for exping lvl33 today, I can use my Pld. Then after the party im off garrison item hunting.

CoP 3.5 is Thursday.

I am interested in leveling my Drk, at 34 right now.

Though probably not tonight, im badly in need of an early night, have not been on time for work for about three weeks now =/

On other things:

As Tal mentioned I hit the big 75 last night, it feels like its taken forever to get those last few levels, I think with no new equipment from 72-75 I found it hard to finish up the last levels, though im glad I did as seeing the merit system it looks brilliant and if im correct in thinking merits is a totally seperate thing from Job exp? and that for instance I can exp for merits on any 75 job, in my case right now Brd and use the points on things to improve Bst? which would help me level that.

As for 3-5 Thursday should be fine for me, am all set just Need to buy food, drink etc.

Yes Merit and Exp point are different, you get a second tally inside the merit menu

0/10 points

so every time you hit 10,000exp you get 1 point to spend and you can carry up 10 spare points at anytime. Now using your Brd to gain Limit point won?t allow you to improve Bst job traits/Abilties as bst would need to 75 for you to be able to use it. But you could use Brd to get merit points in the other item?s so improving

HP/MP - (increase by 10 every 10lvls so for lvl64 bst could have 60hp/60mp more)
Attributes - Str,dex etc,etc(to costly and not worth it)
Skill levels - important, increase Caps for your skills so could effectively turns B+ skill in to a A+
Other - Critical rates, enmity lower/higher


I would go for HP/MP or Skill Levels, so improve your Axe skill for Bst so at lvl 60 you could have +12 skill giving you +12 att +12acc.

If you decide on improving Brd traits and Abilities, remember they only work for lvl75 jobs and are useless in capped areas.

I like the Axe skill idea, that would come in handy.

I dont think I need more MP for either Bst or Brd but HP is something im going to work on.

I think i'm correct in saying our group is aiming for CoP 3.5 tomorrow night? I'm not going to be available until about 9.30ish unfortunately. What I will do if everyone is cool with this is head up to Pso'Xja tonight so we can have a prompt start when I get on. I guess if we say an 8.30pm start it will be at least 9.30 before anything happens anyway :P

If anyone is interested there is now weekly a Final Fantasy XI podcast on iTunes called Mega Elixir. I've not listened to much yet (lack of free time ya-de-ya) but the last two are about the Fan Festival and last 2hr 20m combined so will give them a listen when I get chance. I saw that podcast and considered putting it on the nano to listen to at work but something in my head said don't, I don't know, just heard some gaming podcasts that were too geeky and made me cringe, over hyped Americans come to mind.

But I may give it a try regardless.
