Productive weekend for the NBKs. First we got the keys for our kazham airship passes. We killed the Windy dragon (screenshot coming later today if I remember to do it) thanks to Toxic and Rarehero (3mins 32 just the four of us Rargh!!) I levelled the THF job on mihki to 10 (future farming purposes) and lastly we got to khazam yesterday and hit lv 26!
Had a thought as well yesterday about the perceived crapness of most parties. The way the game is played (in general) leads you to lv 20 rather quickly... then shoves you onto qufim till lv 25 then buggers you off to khazam.. point being to keep exp gained to the absolute maximum. This is a valid reasoning but I think the problem with it is that this high powered levelling tactic leaves you with little money and in parties that are basically fighting above their level (or on the very edge of the average parties ability) Because of this parties have to function to their utmost abilities... PLDs MUST keep aggro, WHMs MUST keep everyone healed ... DMG dealers need the very latest in equipment etc.
I think a lot of people (especially those who have apparently not researched their job) would be better off levelling 25-30 in Jugner forest or the Paschow marshlands. this still gives you decent exp, and even in a party of six enough item drops because you have to kill many more mobs to get the same amount of exp.
In other words the way the game is played pushes each character to their limits, I believe most parties would be better off levelling at a more leisurly pace.
