Venkei offered to help with my Papy and we got one after about an hour last night, also managed to cain up Darkspark and got my Lv52 AF Gloves Good times.

PHEW!!!

After a month of money making I finally have enough for that fabled lvl50 Katana to go in my off hand (Kageboshi). Had the money several times but each time I did, another piece of equipment caught my attention and I bought that instead (notably the Emporer Hairpin, Spirit Torque and the Mermaid Ring).

But at last I feel happy with my gear to the extent that I can finally get back to levelling and with the stacks of items I farmed up last night, I should have enough to fund Ninja Tools as well. Anyway at the moment I have the following:

Weapon 1 ? Yoto+1 (need to change to Muketsu+1 at lvl54)
Weapon 2 ? Bone Knife+1 (will be Kageboshi soon)
Ranged Weapon ? Junior Musketeer?s Chakram (may be changed to either Junior Musketeer?s Chakram+1 or Moonring Blade soon)
Head ? Emporer Hairpin
Neck ? Spirit Torque
Earring 1 ? Dodge Earring
Earring 2 ? Drone Earring
Body ? Jujitsu Gi (will change to Master?s Gi at 55 then Ninja Chainmail at lvl58)
Hands ? Federation Tekko (need to change to Ninja Tekko at lvl60)
Ring 1 ? Mermaid Ring
Ring 2 ? Ametrine Ring (want a Sniper Ring at some point)
Back ?Nomad?s Mantle (want the Nomad?s Mantle+1 at some point)
Waist ? Survival Belt (uncertain whether to get Lifebelt or Royal Knight?s Belt+2 for here)
Legs ? Ninja Hakama
Feet ? Fuma Kyahan (will change to Ninja Kyahan at lvl54)

Hmmm, when I write it out like that sounds like I?ve got a lot more to get than I thought. But, I need to level and get my next piece of AF gear just to keep things ticking over.

I've just read somewhere that European players will not be on the same servers as the rest of the world. Is that true?

Pretty certain it's not true for 2 reasons.

1. The issue of region specific servers has been brought up before (OMGWTFLOL, the JPN see mobs 0.0001 second before us so can claim NMs easier!!!1!!!11! Square-Enix ar3 t3h b14sEd tbh) and nothing has come of it. new servers were introduced upon the US release (PS2 version tho) but only to cope with the increased traffic from more players. The new servers were still a mix of JPN/US players.

2. SE said in a recent update announcement that they didn't feel new servers were necessary with the introduction of European players, as the peak playing times across the 3 playing regions vary so that the servers will be ok.

That more or less expressed my sentiment regarding the multi-continentality of the servers.

I'm glad not to have gotten so deep into the game that things like that are apparent to, or bother me, then! If I play during the day it's mainly Japanese, at night it's mainly Americans. There's not any noticabley huge overlap so I don't know why these complaints come about in the first place.

The issue really is a non-issue anyway. The time difference between seeing mobs is realy miniscule and the difference doesn?t directly come about due the location of the servers. The problem is actually how many ?hops? along the way your ISP takes at various exchanges to get to the server in Japan (along with factors more close to home such as how much strain your computer is running under).

So whilst in theory someone in Japan would take less ?hops? than someone elsewhere, it is still theoretically possible for a US/European player to see the mob first depending on various factors.

The problem is mainly blown out of proportion by inpatient/arrogant players who feel it is their RIGHT to immediately pull any NM that spawns and whine and bitch about lag and whatever when they are outpulled (whether the person who outpulled them happens to be Japanese, Spanish or a Pygmy). I?ve outpulled Japanese players and been outpulled by Japanese players. You have to deal with it and move on.

Even if new servers were introduced to appease the US or Euro players, the problem would still occur.

well I've never seen a spawn-type notorious monster, but I did have a funny incident running next to somebody through sarutabaruta when a crawler appeared before us. He drew his blade, I started casting dia, and I nabbed it first.

He waited beside me while I was killing it, so that when he sent a /tell calling me a bitch I would see it. I saw it, and I also saw the next crawler a short distance away, which I also claimed first thanks to his fannying about

That's exactly it, if these people would move on instead of spending 10-20 minutes whining and bitching about things, they would find the game infinitely more enjoyable.
